I love this trumpet stand! It is made of strong, black ABS plastic (that looks very nice), and it is so light-weight, and folds completely flat (so easy to pack and carry around to rehearsals and performances!) And what a great price--excellent value! Every trumpet and cornet player, from student to professional level, is sure to love this stand. I'm so happy to be able to leave my older, much heavier trumpet stand at home now, and take this one with me everywhere I go with my trumpet.It's a shame they don't also make this stand for flugelhorns, as well as for the smaller-bell trumpets that a lot of us professional classical trumpet players also play (such as piccolo trumpet and D & Eb trumpets.) Searching online, I did find a similarly-designed trumpet stand that is supposed to work with either trumpet or flugelhorn (it has wider legs, and a taller peg, and is a bit more expensive than this one: It's a stand that's made in France and it is called the BG ABS Plastic Trumpet Stand, model A42. For my piccolo trumpet and D/Eb trumpet, I think that I can take a couple of these Cheerock stands and carefully sand down the width at the top if these stands a little bit to make them narrower near the top (to fit into those smaller, narrower trumpet bells.) I'll try sanding them by hand first, using sandpaper. And, if that is too much work and too slow-moving, then I'll try a sanding bit attached to my power drill (don't try this at home, kids, unless you know what you're doing!)I look forward to being able to replace ALL of my old, heavy, clunky, space-consuming trumpet stands with these stands, which are so much lighter, and are so much easier to carry around.This stand should work with most standard-sized Bb trumpets and cornets, as well as most C trumpets. It's a good fit for most of those instruments, as it was designed for them.This stand is very strong and sturdy, and pretty stable also. However, the 5-legged trumpet stands (such as the 5-legged K&M stand) is even more stable, because the additional leg on it spreads out the weight and balance even more. But because of the price, weight (low weight), and flat storage this Cheerock stand is hard to beat! I am quite happy with it.
