Ever since I cut my leg with a chainsaw, I've been rather leery of chainsaws, but I still have to use them on occasion. We just had a terrible ice storm that took down HUGE trees and left trees and big limbs all over the roads. I had to get a prescription refilled in the middle of the storm. The only way I could get out was to cut my way out. On my first attempt, I discovered my chain was DULL! It only took a few moments using this chainsaw sharpening kit to get my chain back in good shape, and I was able to cut my way out successfully. I can speak from experience. It takes up to a half hour or more to sharpen a chain by hand with hand files. This kit comes with a motor/handle that takes different sharpening bits. It has a device to properly align the grinders with your chain that REALLY speeds things up! Just a few seconds grinding a saw tooth and you're off to the next tooth. I found this kit really took the drudgery out of sharpening my saw chain!

I just tried this Threlaco sharpening kit on me 18in saw. I'd loaned my saw to a friend and, not surprising, it came back duller that when it letf. A perfect oppurtunity to try out the kit.The rotary tool/die grinder seems to be as robust and as good quality as the name brand one I have. The diamond grinding bits did an excellent job and the very easy to assemble guide worked great. I even had a chance to try the files that came with the kit. Good enough to remove a couple of serious burrs from a couple of teeth. All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the kit. Sharpening in my shop using the 110v die grinder or in the field with the files and guide, the kit can do just about all you need. A great value and easy 5 star recommendation.
