I had another one that was exactly like this that was portable with it's own battery that was ruined when submerged in water, so I thought this was similar. This one does not have it's own battery and requires external USB power to run. I wouldn't really consider this portable if you need it plugged into a power bank, the power bank is what's portable not the device...Other than that, it works well, it's similar to most of the other chinese made siphons on Amazon. It is small and compact, and has hot glue to put the external casing together. It does the work for my beer and mead from my carboy. It also comes with long tubing you can cut to size, and a strainer that would be useful. It also comes with a random stainless steel hook and a nut, which is kind of useless.
