I didn't expect much for $40 but was pleasantly surprised. The hotplate is large and the fan is noisy but it heats up fast. What's funny is my coffee percolator does not attract a magnet on the heating surface but the hotplate heats it anyway. It works, of course, with my magnetic cookware. Is it IH? I feel the cooktop surface after cooking and it feels warm but not blazing hot. Hmm, not sure about this. Whatever the case, it works and i can take it anywhere there is an electrical outlet or large battery supply. The cord is a little short, maybe three feet but i have a short extension cord that is a heavier gauge than the hotplate cord. I have already used it for hotpot, coffee percolating, frying and it works great. The 2200 Watts is plenty enough for me. The actual cooking radius, like when you boil water with a pan, is not large. Maybe about 5-6 inches in diameter of actual boiling bubbles. With a 12 inch flat bottom wok the heating effect is sufficient for stir frying and for hotpot. It will cook everything in the pan well. It has many features but not like the hotplates that are three times the cost. Nonetheless I am keeping it.

This is a great stand alone burner- i have ordered other “hot plates†that you couldn’t boil water. This boils water and heats up fast. The induction burner is awesome and I would highly recommend due to its awesome price point and functionality!!! Would definitely buy again!!

Using while kitchen gets remodeled. I've had some that could be adjusted1degree of heat at a time. This has fairly large temp jumps. There's a red light that stays on as long as it's plugged in. Not thrilled about that. But for the price, it gets the job done.

It works but it should be a lot powerful because it's 2200 watts but it is very weak. Even if I put the temp to 520 or put it to stir fry at 2200 watts it's like low fire. Like using a slow cooker.
