This is a sturdy, heavy butter crock that's well made and shows attention to detail. It is a joy to use over the past month or so.I tried a few other crocks before this one that didn't sit evenly, had rough edges or bad glazing, or were so lightweight and thin that I felt nervous washing it out of the box -- all worries gone the moment I got this one! It does the job and I expect it will last a lifetime.The only thing I'd mention is that my glaze had a lot more brown than how it looks on my phone screen and it is both darker and warm-toned, so if you're really worried about the teal/blue color matching something in your kitchen, take that into account. Actually, I think the one I got is even better looking.It fits a little more than one standard stick of butter and could probably fit one and half, but I personally don't need more at a time. Changing the water every 1-2 days has kept everything fresh.If you're not sure which one to buy -- this is it!

The Mrs has wanted one of these for years. I scored big time with this. The right color too. We use it daily. Keeps the butter soft, since we no longer have to refrigerate it every evening. It also does a splendid job of keeping the bugs off/away from the butter.

I just received this fantastic little butter bell yesterday, so I can’t speak to freshness and ease of cleaning (after it’s been filled with butter), but I absolutely love it so far!Holds 2 half sticks of butter (and a 1/4 of another, I had already opened) and the butter is perfectly spreadable. I’ll probably change the water every day, or every other, depending on whether I remember.It looks perfect on my counter, next to the awesome bamboo fiber breadbox, I also just ordered.This little butter bell crock is not something you think you need, but you definitely will want it!

Excellent quality! It feels very sturdy and well made. The glaze on it is very pretty too. Warm brown glaze on the inside complements the blue/green speckled glaze on the outside. It’s super easy to load the butter into the bell/crock. I fit almost 2 sticks of butter in it. It helps keep the butter soft and fresh! If you haven’t used one before you definitely need to try it out!

As long as you pack the butter into it properly. If you are unsure of what that means, it is like you would pack brown sugar when measuring, really push it into the holder to get rid of air-holes. I took my stick of butter from the fridge, let it soften a little to help get it in the crock. I change the water every couple of days and it is working very nicely. It has been 18 days and would probably go many more but the family have used most of the butter from the crock, so time to clean it and refill. ;)

This thing is so cool. I put a block of Kerry Gold butter out on the counter to soften and when it does, I fill the " bell" with the butter. I then put cold water ( not much, 1/4-1/2 inch ) in the bottom part of the container. This is what forms the seal, keeps bacteria out of the butter and allows it to stay soft, on the counter. I change the water every day or two when I think of it. It holds more butter than I thought it would! Allows you to spread butter easily on toast etc. Believe me, if this did not work, I'd never put Kerry Gold in it! I love it!

I was debating getting g one of these as butter is getting expensive in Australia, hello Costco, this is a great item, just remember to change the water every second day and spreadable butter on your bench, say goodbye to the horrible blends and have pure butter on your bench for your toast and bread or toast, I have yet to see how long it lasts due to the pottery vs stainless steel etc , but great for pure butter and less micro plastics in your food

Es una pieza muy bonita, con apariencia de un objeto artesanal. El glaseado no es tal como se ve en las fotos, donde se ve casi metálicos reluciente. En actualidad es un color plano con moteado más oscuro, pero sigue siendo bonito.No trae la lÃnea de nivel de agua como dice la descripción, pero no es difÃcil atinarle.Funcional y muy bonito.

Nice pottery butter bell, works really well! Add a bit of salt to the water for freshness as well. Good quality product
