This Defender Security U 9947 Drawer and Cabinet Lock is designed for use with drawer cabinets and cabinet. Installation of this drawer and cabinet lock with key is quick and easy with only a few simple tools. Constructed of diecast and stamped steel materials, all components of these locks for cabinets come in a beautiful corrosion resistant brass plated finish. This small lock set features a beveled bolt and fits up to 7/8 inch thick panels. The locks are not keyed the same. This drawer & cabinet lock is constructed of diecast and steel components and it comes in a brass plated finish. This lock features a 7/8 in. outside cylinder diameter with a 5/16 in. bolt throw, and a 7/8 in. cylinder length that will accommodate up to 7/8 in. thick panels. This drawer & cabinet lock can be mounted to metal or wood; door and drawer panels, and it comes complete with installation fasteners. This model number is keyed different, but is also available keyed alike, and it uses Ilco Y-13 keyway.

I had hoped this would replace the lock on the top desk drawer on my WWII-era wooden desk - AND IT DID!!(The old key has been lost for decades) Easy to install, perfect fit to the old lock, even the screw holes were the same.

Perfect fit in mounting hole, but the attachment screws didn’t line up. That wasn’t a major problem a screwdriver and three minutes couldn’t remedy.

I just needed a simple, and durable, lock for one of my desk drawers and it works perfectly. The thing is made out of metal brass and feels very durable. I did a stress and theft test, pulling and tugging on my drawer while it was locked and it ain't opening. Not unless I used a crow bar or something. Plus if you have a brown wooden cabinet like me, that golden metallic color looks really nice compared to a silver colored lock.
