This is the second of these I have ordered and they work great with my old Vera Edge Zwave system. I have one monitoring an old hot water heater (that I'm sure will go out soon) for leaks and garage temperature while the other monitors a dryer vent in the attic for leaks and the attic temperature. I can't comment on the battery life as yet, but they monitoring works great. There is a slight trick to the manual adding to Vera, but the documentation is thorough and explains each step of the manual add process.

I use this with Home Assistant to monitor the water heater pan for water. The brains are mounted a couple of feet up the water heater and the sensor is in the pan on the water heater shell. It paired right up with Home Assistant and I can see battery, temp, humidity and water detection.I have an automation that turns off the Moen Flo if water is detected and alerts me.

Installed a few months ago, in the last month accidentally spilled a little water into the basin this sits in and received the 'water leak' warnings...

Purchased this product in April ‘22 and was plagued with constant problems of it being offline. I was using it in the reverse to monitor when the water level dropped below a certain level. The sensor was unreliable to say the least and stopped working possibly on the 11th month (March ‘23). I was moving for work and forgot about it until I finally settled at my new location by which time it couldn’t even be warranted. Will not recommend!

Great sensor and super accurate - but I’ll admit at first I thought I had a dud. Paired this very easily to my Aeotec SmartThings Hub, and immediately learned that it had a humidity sensor in addition to the temperature sensor, which is pretty awesome. Even though I’m using this to monitor my sump pump (for early flood detection in the event of failure) I can imagine that having the temp and humidity sensor would be hugely beneficial for avoiding burst pipes or in spaces that have water in the first place and you would want to mitigate excessive humidity. May buy a few more for those cabinet spaces I always worry about in the winter. Anyway, a few days after dangling the probe into my sump pump I started receiving wet alerts, frequently. They would almost always reset to “normal†until they didn’t. I checked to ensure that water wasn’t rising to reach the probe, and when I determined it wasn’t close I thought I had a defective unit. That is until I inspected a little more closely and realized a spider had spun one tiny strand of web between the two probes, and when enough moisture condensed on this web it closed the circuit!! Crazy sensitive. Cleared the web off and I’ve been alert free since, and also happy with the peace of mind that this thing works WELL!

Seems to alert fine for water, humidity, and temperature. Works well from basement to my Aeotec smartthings hub upstairs. But does not stand up on the floor by itself. I had to attach bunch of weights to make that happen. Very bad physical design.

I purchased this product to use along with a Aeotec SmartThings Hub. I installed a very nice dehumidifier in my crawl space and combined that with a condensation pump to remove water to the outside of the house. I place the condensation pump in a plastic cat litter box. In the event of pump failure, the water will spill over into the plastic box and the water sensor will alert me of a problem. I can then use my SmartThings app to turn off the smart plug that the dehumidifier is plugged into. Stopping the dehumidifier temporarily will allow me to correct the pump problem and prevent water from pumping into the crawl space area. Occasionally, I will open my SmartThings app and the water sensor will be offline. A little while later it will be back online. I don't know if the floor is thick enough to interrupt the wireless connection or if the device is just buggy. I'm happy with it for the most part.

The sensor is very easy to setup, I was able to zip tie it to a joist next to a water heater drip pan and drop the sensor into the pan. The first 18 months were fine, it reported temps and when tested, triggered alerts via a SmartThings and later a Hubitat bridge.Somewhere around 18 months after install, the sensor started triggering false alarms about water leaks. The incidents are usually over a month apart, but the sensor will repeatedly trigger water alerts in the span of several hours, then go back to normal. Nothing like rushing home or being woken up at 2am for a water heater leak that isn’t real. After issues with Aeotec’s water sensor 6s showing corrosion on the PCB after about a year and dying (multiple units had this problem), and now false alarms on the 7 Pro, I’m replacing all of my Aeotec sensors with other brands. The 1 year warranty is too short, and longevity is clearly an ongoing issue. I’d go with another brand.

Will NOT work on a UK smartthings hub as these sensors use the American ZWave frequency 908.4 MHz, 916 MHz and NOT the CEPT (UK) frequencies 868.4 MHz, 869.85 MHz.No amount of fiddling will overcome this. THEY.WILL.NOT.WORK.IN.THE.UK.
