This made such a nice birthday gift. It has all that one needs to hang clothes and leave coins, wallet, etc. It is heavy enough to be stable and the finish is attractive. It was a little iffy for me to assemble, but all is accomplished.

I loved this, holds my clothes and works great. Looks nice and I like the way the pins pull out and go back in. It was a little confusion putting it together, could be better marked. But I still like it and use it every day.

We purchased the Kyoto Wardrobe Valet in Mahogany which had to be assembled. Unfortunately, there was a problem in manufacturing - the base could only be attached upside down b/c the screw holes were in the wrong place. When assembled, the holes are visible on the top of the base. I contacted the seller who shipped a replacement part, but by then, my husband didn't want to dis- and reassemble it. Another problem we found with the craftsmanship is that the end of the metal bar in front of the tray (where you slide your trousers over to keep them neat-looking) has a rough, unprotected end on it. You'll need to be very careful sliding your pants over it or it's possible that you might cut your hand, tear your trousers, or both. An easy remedy would be to file it smooth, cover the end w/ tape (a bit unsightly), or see if your local hardware store has a little rubber "cap" which would slide over the end. If you purchase this (there aren't many other options available in this price range), I recommend that you take the metal rod to the hardware store before assembling, b/c you're certainly not going to want to drag the whole thing in once you've put it together. However, it serves the purpose of holding my husband's keys, cell phone, wallet, etc when he empties his pockets at night. I like the design, overall, and it doesn't take up much space. It's sturdy enough for its intended purpose and fairly attractive looking in spite of our base being on upside down.

This thing was held together by bad glue. This was a waste of money!!!!! Do not get!!!!!!!

It is made of finger joined wood that is not very well constructed. The vertical pieces are very flimsy. In fact when I got mine, 2 of the pieces were broken at the finger joints. I glued them back rather than return it. Once it is assembled it works ok. I do like the 2 small bars on the shelf. They are handy for a belt or tie or a hat. Overall though it isn’t very good quality and I would not buy it again.

For years I simply hung up my jeans and coat on the back of a chair, scattering wallet, keys, phone, etc. on my bedside table. Worked fine, but when my wife bought me this valet (I had never heard of this type of furniture before) I fell in love with it right away. It's a perfect "single stop" in the mornings before heading out the door. Takes almost no floor space and the tray is at just the right height. Recommended! I've owned it for a year and half now and it's held up perfectly.

We have a small room, and this doesn't take up much space. My husband loves it! He can put multiple shirts, a jacket, and a few pants on it - not to mention his wallet and keys. It is sturdy on our carpet. It looks sharp, too.
