Your cart is empty. The Caviness Grip is designed to make the handle more comfortable as you paddle down the river. It comes in pairs. The grip will fit a handle larger than 1" diameter and is 5" long. Protection is also a key feature of the grip in allowing your hand to not have to get blisters where imperfections to the handle have occurred.

Grips need more than hot water to soften up I needed a heat gun to install They fit great

Very nice. One my ore is bit smaller that other diameter as one older than other. Used gorilla tape to increase diameter. Worked perfectly. Both match now feel wonderful. Yet to use but ready for next outing.

The only problem I have with these grips is getting them on the oar. Instructions call for soaking in hot water for 30 seconds. I followed instruction and then re-soaked several times. NO LUCK. I was ready to cut into little pieces. As a last resort I used mineral oil, on the oars and in the grip. Even then you have to push and twist with great effort. Alas, they are on the oar, fit right, feel right. GOOD LUCK!!

Give these things a good soaking in hot water before installing. The recommended soak time is way to short, they cool down quickly and fit super tight. I suggest doubling the soak time and put on gloves, place the oar handle against a door jam on the floor and place the guard on the oar blade, start pulling and pushing down immediately with one hand on each side of he blade. Once the guard starts moving down the blade do not stop until completly seated. In short long soak, put on gloves, push and pull for all you are worth, in the end the guards are great.

Update:After first 3 day river trip of mild use these are already falling apart. The material is molded poorly and gets extremely thin along the oar tip outer edges, or the place they are intended to protect. The thin web of material has already began to split apart and tear along these edges after only a few easy bumps and scrapes.Original post:Only 3 stars because there is no "Smoker" logo as shown in picture, just plain black on both sides.Otherwise, 5 star fit on my smoker 10' ash oars perfectly.

One side seems to be flimsy on the end. These are a little to big in diameter for my aluminum oars that came with my HydroForce raft. I will need to put rubber cement inside them to hold them on. But they are really good for grip and keeping my hands away from the cold metal in these chilly Northwest days.

Installed per directions (soaked in hot, hot water for ~1 minute). Nice tight fit with great durability all season long. My 30 year old wooden oars fell like new and my hands appreciate the small investment.
