Before I had this I had the the elastic bungee straps on the side of my yak. I would always find part of my paddle sticking in the water which would make it hard to steer with my rudder at times. Now that I have this clip it keeps my paddle securely mounted up out of the water. Couldn’t imagine yak fishing without it.

Great product. I use it to secure my anchor pole for my OldTown 120 kayak. Fits within the built-in rails on the kayak and I add a short bungee to cinch it down.

I use two of these to hold the paddle on my kayak. They place the paddle on the outside of the kayak saving rail space for other stuff. Two hold the paddle securely: one holds the paddle but allows paddle ends to tip.

Let me first start off by saying I have troubleshooted this device thoroughly and with the assistance of Jay at Rail blaza customer support. The title and pictures sums up my issue with this product. I purchased the Quick grip paddle holder and a Rod holder 2 with Miniport. The first picture on this review is from Rail Blaza's website. It shows the paddle holder being used with the miniport. This was appealing to me because I could mount my paddle and mount a rod on the same side of my kayak. The second picture shows Rail blaza's major design flaw. The miniport I purchased that came with the rod holder 2, is wider than the one on their advertisement picture (see first pic on this review), despite orienting the mini port for maximum clearance between the mounting knobs (12-6 o'clock, it's slimmer this way), once I screwed the miniport to the paddle holder, I could only get about 3 turns on the mounting knobs. The knobs rub against the Miniport and after about 3 turns, you're done. Because of this, the whole assembly was not secure on my kayak's accessory rail. Jay from Rail Blaza's advice was to orient the Miniport for max clearance between the knobs (which I had already done) and tighten the miniport as tight as it will go, and then get as many turns as possible out of the mounting knobs (tried it, assembly wobbled). He went on to tell me that the Miniport had recently been updated to this newer version with the wider base (putting me in this issue). He apologized and offered to send me a return label. At this point I was ready to return everything and get my $60 back, but I had an idea. I went on eBay and found an older model Miniport with the smaller base. $20 and a few days later, it arrived. See the last 2 pics on this review. The mounting knobs can now be tightened/loosened and do not contact the miniport. The mount is secure. I am unfortunately stuck with a miniport I cannot return because it came with the Rod holder 2. I plan on maybe mounting it to the other side of my kayak and maybe getting a second rod holder or any other accessory that Rail Blaza supports with the female star. I'm all in currently at $80, but I decided to keep everything due to the fact I can't find a similar set up that allows mounting paddle and rod on same side. I gave a four star because it does wear out and the grip weakens. Otherwise I still recommend.

I have bought many of Railblaza products because of its good quality.Only recently, I received an 'impaired' or missing screw bolts and nuts.Simply not practical to return the item with postage charges to be incurred on my own.I would appreciate if Railblaza could mail to me the complete set of bolt and nut.
