For the price, I accept it isn’t made to the same tolerances and quality as Jeep OEM. It took some sanding, lubrication, and several adjustments to make it perform consistently. Those minor annoyances are acceptable for the savings, to me. That being said, since performing the “fine tuning†over the span of a week, it has performed flawlessly since.

After being told by a nice couple that I had no brake lights while going down the freeway I of course checked my bulbs, but they were fine. A little research online suggested it was most likely this little switch. Not the easiest thing to get to in my Jeep, but once I got the new one on (pay close attention to how the old one sits before taking it off) everything started working again. It’s totally something the most beginner mechanic can do and I’m sure it saved me $100+ to fix it myself. I’m very happy with this part.

The shaft is longer than the OEM stoplight switch for a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, so the part didn't fit my Jeep as-is. However, I was able to cut off the end of the shaft, which looses the round tab, but still seems to function properly. As a result I've knocked off a couple of stars, but otherwise the price is right and it is a workable solution
