This winder is great. Easy to put together and take apart for storage in the sturdy box it came with it. Winds easily, ball comes off easily and is very uniform. Would definitely buy again. The extras it came with are a very nice bonus!

This pink plastic yarn winder looks like a toy, but it actually does a pretty decent job of winding yarn cakes. It was easy to set up as I have a table that is the right depth. To test it, I used the enclosed ball of pink yarn. I did have to fiddle with the threader a little to keep the yarn running through it smoothly, but once I got the hang of it, it worked well. It is tempting to wind too fast, but that can cause slack in the yarn and make it go off track. As it is, it only took a couple of minutes to make a nice compact cake of yarn out of the yarn ball that was in the kit. There's also a handy snipper and a couple of yarn rings. Overall, a very useful tool for knitters and crocheters.

LOVE this winder! Is it perfect? No, but it works well and even with it's issues it blows traditional ball winders out of the water.Pros:Easy to assemble and operateThe clamp can go pretty wide meaning you will likely have somewhere you can use it in your houseCome with all tools needed for assemblyIt winds FASTThe plastic is lightweight but durableGreat price point for what you getCons:-The power button can be a little finicky. On mine, if I turn it all the way up it slows down, it has to be stopped at the right spot.-The spring on the guide needs more tension on it, the ball is bigger and slightly more delicate than it needs to be. If the yarn is not be fed straight up into the guide, the yarn will pop out.Even knowing the cons, I would order this product again. The issues don't outweigh the saved time and price point for me.

I was thrilled to get this Yarn Ball Winder for my wife and daughters! Since they’ve started crocheting, they’ve been wanting an easy-to-use tool to make neat and organized yarn cakes. This winder has been useful and they’ve all been using it. It's fairly simple to operate, but the drum comes off sometimes and you need the right table size to attach the winder to.

I have used this winder a lot since receiving it and have had no issues. It holds up well to stubborn yarn and mildly aggressive use while winding. I've had no problems since it holds onto the table well, the crank is easy to wind, and the metal support is sturdy despite being adjustable.

I wish I had gotten this sooner. It makes winding yarn fast and easy.Unlike some of the other yarn winders I have seen, set up on this is simple. Just attach the winding drum and the clamp. To use, you run the yarn through the eyelet and connect to the drum. To get a nice cake, you just need to keep steady tension on the yarn and wind at a steady pace. The unit it clamps securely to a flat surface like a table and is quiet to use.Once done winding, simply remove your new cake from the drum. I like to slip the yarn wrapper into the center of the cake, so I have all the information available at a glance.It's a very simple machine and doesn't look top notch, but it gets the job done efficiently.

KNOW that you're getting a small winder, put together this is smaller than a takeout bag from a fast food restaurant and the ball you'll get isn't much larger than a burger (I must be hungry writing this...)Get the yarn started, then move at a moderate pace to keep it tight, but don't move too fast or you'll pull in too much slack. We found that having someone give a very small amount of tension to the feed yarn while turning the handle did a great job.
