The Bilstein I had was apparently for a 350 and too short for the 450 steering range. This one works well enough and fits properly. Cheap way to get it working while saving for a dual stabilizer.

We ordered for the front end of and 2013 F-350. Mechanic put them on with no issues. We've been driving and towing now for a few weeks and so far everything is working as it should. We saved a little bit by going with Amazon over the parts store and they had more to choose from. These worked so far so good!

I had a bielstein steering damper before this one and had no problems. Ford dealer recommended replacing the steering damper after some other maintenance so I figured I’d just use the factory brand. I installed the Rancho and had death wobble twice in the same day. Immediately reinstalled the Bielstein and problems went away. From what I’ve read, there are 3 different revisions of the Rancho damper over the years with Ford trying to resolve the death wobble issue, and this must be one of the bad versions.

I was a little skeptical at first because it’s not gas charged. So far it provides a smooth ride, and steering control.UPDATE: After a year of highway driving, performance greatly degraded. If you want to replace the steering damper every year, this is the way to go.

While directions are very minimal (Just a photo depicting direction of steering pin) the kit is complete, stout, and easy to install. Start to finish was a 15 minute procedure. Damper performance is close to factory, and at a fraction of the cost. I would recommend.

This is on the truck 3 weeks. I took the cover off and ran it out after it blew up, but that's all I got. Of course, by the time I got the item, found time to install it, and then ran it, it was into the second month. No warranty. The seller refused to warranty it, lots and lots of hoops if you want to try and get a proper warranty from Rancho, but I only bought it because of the year warranty and it lasted less than a month. Just save the extra 20% and buy a OEM from a local dealer. At least they will warranty what is clearly a defective product.
