highly recommend martingale collars, especially RC brand as i use these everyday for all my dogs, they are durable and wash well!...i feel safer with this and my leash versus attaching a leash to regular collar or harness...it is much strong and can't breakaway...must get correct size so does NOT slip off neck and provides better walking control...material that is soft around front of neck and strong chain for safety combo is the best and this product offers both

Bought 5 months ago for my dog child who escaped her flat collar a few times. This collar has held up very well since I first put it on her, and successfully keeps her from wiggling out of it. There are a few signs of wear (the RC dog is halfway rubbed off, the edges of the collar are getting kinda fuzzy), but I don't anticipate having to replace it any time soon.One of the reasons I bought this collar over other brands is because this one looked sturdier and more functional- like it wouldn't slip and need readjustment every two days. I'm pleased to find I was right. I take the collar off for baths (loosen it before I take it off, tighten it after I put it back on), and every time the plastic adjuster is in the same place, hasn't moved a millimeter.For a while I was a bit concerned because the collar left a black ring around my dog's white-furred neck, and it was a little tough to wash off, so maybe it's best to wash it before putting it on your dog.One thing to note is that, for the proper fit, you have to measure your dog's neck right below their ears, rather than halfway down to their shoulders. I first bought a large, because I measured the middle of my dog's neck and came up with 18''. It could not be adjusted for the 14'' right behind her ears, so I exchanged it for a medium (which fits perfectly).Lastly, the D-ring- I went to put my dog's ID tags on it, and found that the D-ring was too thick for me to do so. This was not a problem for me, as I had a sturdy clip lying around that I use to attach her tags with. You may need to improvise, as I did, or buy a clip specifically made for holding ID tags.

I loved that I found a martingale that had not only multiple colors, but also great patterns to choose from. I purchased three of these, one for each of my dogs. They do seem to be durable as I have had them for a few months now and they still look great! Of course, they are easy to use and not expensive at all. However, I would rate them with five stars and even pay a little more for them with a couple of changes. First, they would be easier to use and stop any concern or slight reservations about them if they also had a clip for quick release clip should anything happen (ie, get the collar stuck on something). Second, there should be a small band to hold the ends together where it goes around the ring. Without this band, the collar sticks out until it gets broken in and also allows enough movement for it to loosen up a bit. I did have to retighten a couple of the collars until they were broke in enough not to have that loop sticking out. Also regarding the quick release clip, this is kind of needed since I was unable to tighten the collar enough to where the two rings of the collar are pulled together by the chain for corrections and not have them meet. This prevents a fully accurate correction without making the collar too small to easily remove it over their head. The quick release clip would allow the collar to be shortened enough so that during corrections the collar could tighten enough on their neck to fully get their attention, but still allow quick removal of the collar if needed. I hope my explanation makes sense!

Hard to find xtra small martingale collar for a cockatoo puppy. This one works great and is cute too! Recommended from instructor of puppy kindergarten.

Always hard to buy this sort of thing on line. At first I didn't think I would like it... but gave it a chance and actually like it alot now. Very well made, nice color design, fits dog well. Tightens and releases nicely. Some don't so I really came to appreciate this product after using another version from another mfg. Would buy again but I doubt we will wear this one out.

I was very impressed with this collar from RC Pet Products. The collar seems to be very durable and of good quality. It was not hard to put on as I learned the trick of holding a treat in one hand and holding it in front of the opened collar to lead my puppy to allow me to put over her head- and she has always been difficult in the past with anything put over her head or around her neck- but the treat did the trick. At first use- she did try to pull as always- I had been using a harness but learned the hard way- this only seemed to encourage pulling; but miraculously so far she has seemed to calm down and has only been pulling very minimally, if at all. I am so very pleased with her new manners! The collar is beautiful and appears very well made and durable. Also, it is not hard to adjust at all and only takes a few seconds which was also impressive as I did not know what to expect having never used this type of collar. If your dog is a strong puller I highly recommend this type of collar. I could not bring myself to use the spiked collars and was looking for something less harsh for my puppy. With the regular style collar she used to gag and choke- and that made me very uncomfortable also. But so far, with this new collar this has not been the case. It seems we both will now be enjoying her walks. Thank you!

Our trainer advised getting one of these collars to help with our pups training. It is working well and offers additional piece of mind that if our pup gets out of her harness this collar will still keep her attached to her leash.

This is a great collar, very sturdy and at a reasonable price. I am very pleased with this purchase, especially after having to return a previous purchase of a different type of collar from a different manufacturer that turned out to be a piece of junk that led to a terrible scare when it broke at the tug from my very small dog only a day after I had adopted him so when he ran off -- now collarless due to the collar breaking -- he didn't even know yet where home was as he'd only been here for one day. It was scary, especially when he ran across the street without even knowing to look for cars (fortunately there were no passing cars at the time) but I finally corralled the little guy and got him home. THIS collar, on the other hand, is fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. :-) I would definitely recommend it.
