Telescope Accessories

Brightness Adjustment - A rotary switch activates and adjusts the level of illumination so it is just the right brightness for you. You will see a red dot on the projection screen, when you look at the night sky, looks as if it is floating in it. It is bright enough to use during the day or night.

Star Pointer Viewfinder

Precise Alignment - The finder can be adjusted in four directions so that the red dot is exactly on the object you are looking at.

Very reasonably priced and seems to work well. The adjusting screws work smoothly. It does not come with a battery, and it requires removal of the scope from its base to remove the screw securing the battery compartment. This is a fairly trivial task, and it is supposedly to prevent children from getting access to the battery and swallowing it. The small extra hassle is well worth it if it prevents an injury.

Hey this item it's working OK.It does what it's designed to do.I wish viewfinder was just bit bigger..had to tape up adjudjusment screws. Because it's very easy to turn them by accident when you working in the dark. Witch will mess up the alignment..other than that..It works great.

Don’t let this fool you in thinking that it’s the same as the celestron red dot. It’s not!!! The brightness level at the dimmest is VERY bright. It does a poor job in preserving your night adapted vision. One of my colleagues have the celestron red dot finder and it works flawlessly and consistently. I clearly can’t rely this for my 80mm APO for visual use. It has a finite amount of play until I can’t adjust any further. In other words, I can’t get it close enough to my field of view and it bottomed out.Did I forget to mention? There’s no battery included so have fun with that!!!Last one is an issue and I worked around its lack of adjustability and said that each object is 4 degree to 7 o-clock on the red dot to get it right. That position is never consistent and I find myself having to bottom it out to get back to the calibrated spec.I don’t recommend this red dot. Kinda wish I never shattered/trashed it out of frustrations so I can return it.Experienced tip: get a Rigel quick finder if you want something that’ll work for a small grab and go. It straps onto the dew shield with a double sided tape to secure the base in place. Then snap on the head in place. It all fits my well-stuffed case!!!

Simple add on for any telescope..., we installed on a very inexpensive telescope. I planned on upgrading the telescope and moving the finder scope. It works okay, but it does not feel quality, so I will get a better finder scope to match the quality of the next scope. It should have an auto-off. Drains the battery.

Does what I need, but is quite cheap.Picked this up as I needed a small, light, spotting scope for my astrophotography rig. When adjusting the alignment while it was on my scope, almost broke the adjustment screws, because they barely had enough range to get lined up with where my scope is pointing. So i was just baaarely able to get this to work.
