How to use

pull out the clear plastic sheet that is at the front and on the bottom .This allows the battery to make contact so that the red dot appears when you switch it on.

Look through the hole at the front of the finder and you should see the red dot and be able to make it brighter or dimmer by using that rotary control which is also the on/off switch.

Adjust the finder so that the red dot is exactly on the object you were looking at. You can adjust it by using the two larger wheels. The one on the right at the front does the left/right direction and the one at the back on the bottom does the up and down.

You now use it by switching the finder on, then looking through the finder so that the red dot lines up on to the target you are going to observe through your telescope. Once the red dot is exactly over the star or planet it should be exactly in the center of your eyepiece view.

Remember to switch it off once you have found your target to save the battery.

This is my first Red Dot Scope upgrade and it seems to work well! It does not come with directions but those are easy to find online. Basically look at an object through your main telescope in the day time about quarter mile out and center and on next in view. Then look in the scope finder and adjust it so the same item is in the middle of the Red Dot. After the adjustment things which were hard to see before came with ease! The scope does NOT come with a adapter base, you will have to purchase one separate and mount it for this scope to fix. After that things go together very well! I don’t have an old Red Dot to compare to but so far so good!

It mounted easily on my Celestron Inspire 90AZ. The read dot is bright and useful. The mount can go on the scope both ways so you may need to unscrew and remount the scope depending on how your telescope connection is mounted. Great value for the cost

The red dot pointer I received is a fair deal for the $$. The dot is bright. The dimming switch works well. The stalk holds the pointer a reasonable distance from the telescope tube. But there are negatives: (1) The stalk that supports the dot projector itself is plastic. One good hit and it will break. (2) Absolutely no instructions for installation or use come with it. Not even a small sheet of Chinglish. I have used these before, so I understand the basics. If you haven't, you may need to seek help (a more experienced friend, or something online). Instructions should have included how to install and sight, how to align, battery replacement, battery type. (3) The foot required some sanding to fit in the dovetail bracket on my telescope. I don't know if the foot was too big or the bracket was too small. One advantage of the soft plastic is that it was easy to sand down to a snug fit.Of course, I don't know if any of the other cheap Chinese red dot sights are any better.

Good red dot finder. A red dot is a cheap alternative to a regular finder scope. I installed this on a Orion Starblast 6i. It fit perfectly in the dove tail mount that came with the scope. It came ready right out of the box, and the red dot is nice and bright.

There are no instructions. It is fairly obvious that the right knob moves the red dot left and right; the bottom knob moves it up and down. Bu neither one seems to move the red dot. The screws at the far end of both knobs seemed loose. Even tightening them up did not help. Where the battery is and how to replace it? I would have to guess. This seems a trivial thing to do: put in a diagram showing which knobs do what and how to replace the battery.Other reviewers have complained this it is cheap plastic and it would be SO MUCH NICER if made of aluminum. True and it would cost twice as much and weigh more. If I could get it to work, this would be a wonderful cheap, compact alternative to a Telrad. I will try to replace it with another one and hope it works. If no better on the second try, Telrad.

Needed a replacement for a possibly 20-year-old red dot finderscope that is no longer made. It's actually an exact copy without the original branding. Fully meets expectations. Red dot finder scopes like these are inexpensive but easy to use. Novices should be aware these get the viewer in the general neighborhood of your target but should be used with a more precise optical scope. Use it alone for targeting and it will be a long frustrating night.

Used on a Polaris scope, with another amazon mount. Helps when greatly aligned bummer when you accidentally tap the mount and misalign.

Para los que usamos lentes y batallamos con la mira normal este producto está excelente pues puedes apreciar tu objetivo, previo ajuste a tu telescopio, sin tener el “ojo pegado” a la mirilla.
