TRIMMER HEAD YARD MAINTENANCE.REDMAX IS LISTED AS US MFG. I PURCHASED A $59 TRIMMER HEAD THINKING I WOULD GET A US PRODUCT WHEN AMAZON HAS MUCH CHEAPER HEADS. THEY ARE ALL MADE IN CHINA. MY CHINA MADE $59 HEAD WORKS LIKE ORIGINAL. I DON'T KNOW IF THE $18 HEADS WILL HOLDUP OR EVEN START UP. I GUESS I'LL TRY A MID PRICED HEAD NEXT TIME.

Perfect replacement for my broken head. My red max is over 10 years old and I had problems with the feed with the old head and once it broke I found this one. Like others have stated make sure you put something in the side to lock the head and it is reverse threaded. Perfect replacement.

The head is a complete unit, to include the internal spring. Just simply "unscrew" the old head and discard, and screw the new head into place. There is a small hole just above the head where a small screwdriver, when inserted, fits into a small notch. This holds the head, while being unscrewed, otherwise, everything just spins. The head comes equipped with a complimentary section of string.
