I installed this on my 2wd 1999 Ford F150 Flareside. It installed perfectly with only half the spacers. The nut treading tool is rather ingenious! I installed mine with with bolts in the holes at the back top and front bottom of the receiver's mounting plates. This gave the receiver a tilt upward rather than horizontal to the ground. Even tilted like this the receiver did not interfere with the plastic cowl on the bottom of the bumper.

This hitch is just what I wanted, it is well made and fits snugly between the frame rails on my 1999 f-150 2wd. The fascia need not be cut or altered. Price was very fair, all hardware is included and unit arrived on time in good condition. One problem no fault of Reese hitches, there are no bolt holes or holes on my frame that line up with the mounting surface of this receiver. I will have to support the unit in position using jack stands mark the locations and drill the 8 holes. For best results temporarily remove fascia to access bolt holes inside of box frame, complete by reinstalling fascia. When complete this will be totally functional and look real good.I estimate this job will conservatively take 4 hrs. to complete with professional results. Thanks AMR.

this was abit tuff fir me since I had right frame damage I didn't know I had. but was able to straighten metal out and mount hitch, had to drill two half inch holes, was missing a couple bolts and nut plates, but I had bolts and nuts around in my shop.

Reese hitch 65025 was showns as a fit for 2004 F150 on Amazon Garage. Mechanic says it is too narrow and the attahced shims are not enough to make it fit. Since the hitch is 3/4 inch to narrow on each side, it requires 3 shims on each side for both front and back holes. with 3 shims, the bolts that came are too short. My return window has closed. In the past I have trusted the Amazon Garage "Fit" green button, but this is wrong in this case.

I ordered this thinking it would fit my 1997 F250 HD 4x4. However the instructions from Reese say it fits only the light duty version. All Ford trucks with diesel are considered HD.Good quality, good welds, good paint.

Super easy to install. Took longer to get my tools out and get the truck up on ramps than to do the install. 1st bolt to last bolt ....... about 10 minutes. And it installs with no modifications. Works AWESOMELY AWESOME ðŸ˜

First, I was supposed to get four backing plates with square holes for the four carriage bolts that I got. What I got was THREE backing plates with square holes and five backing plates with round holes. It is IMPOSSIBLE to use a carriage bolt in one of the round-holed plates BECAUSE IT MAKES THE BOLT TOO SHORT TO WORK. I have to go tomorrow and buy bolts that will fit.Second, the way that the Ford frame is constructed, it is IMPOSSIBLE to position the short carriage bolts and hold them IN PLACE while trying position the hitch in such a way as to run the bolts through the prefab holes. The idiot that designed this should have to eat it...without salt.I can make it work, but it is a TWO DAY ORDEAL.

Not sure about how it will push/pull yet, but it seems solid enough and fit my 98 F150 perfectly.
