used on a 2012 chev silverado fit like a glove. i found that if you use the wire leaders furnished with hitch install the meatal plate on the wire first. leaving 5-6 inches of wire with coil for the bolt hanging out past the metal plate then install the bolt every thing goes over the truck tow hitch if you only pull one piece over at a time. I used a power grip plyers to hold the wire in place while installing the bolt on the wire

I was needing something for the front of my 2010 Silverado 1500 4x4 to put bikes on while pulling my camper. This was perfect. Compared to everything else I found this was the best bang for my buck. Super sturdy and easy for my and my son to install in a out 30min, once we adjusted for the front push bar. Highly recommend.

After reviewing the different brands of Front Hitches and talking with people who have installed them, I went with the Draw-Tite/Reese 65052 for multiple reasons.1. Highest Mounted Receiver. The Curt version hangs down much lower. Folks I spoke to complained about the hitch hitting steep driveways, and had their Suburban lifted/leveled three inches in the front to offset it.2. Line Pull. I plan to use this with a Winch, so having a 9,000lb rating makes me sleep well at night.3. Simple Three Bolt installation, with a design that acts like another skid plate. The Curt version does not have a bar running front to back. This does mount up into the actual bumper area, so removing/cutting is required. I removed my wind dam years ago, and still had to cut the bumper. I test fitted everything twice before making the final cuts. This is also why my install took almost two hours instead of one.

Very easy to install with the bolt-threading wires. I installed it by myself (hard to lift at times), but it would be very easy if you have another pair of hands. The hardest part was cutting the front dust guard at the right location. TIP: Cut it all the way to the bottom instead of trying to fit it through a square - then you can plastic weld the piece back on below it - took only a few minutes (using $10 plastic weld kit), and it looks great now.

I installed this on the front of my 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 to use a hitch-mounted bike rack. I frequently take kayaks and bikes on weekend trips and unloading the bikes every time we wanted to unload the kayaks from the bed was getting to be a hassle. This did the trick!I have access to a full shop with a lift, so installation took about 10 minutes. For the backyard installer I would say 45 minutes is a fair estimate.Construction is good, although I did notice the receiver tube is very slightly offset to one side. This isn't really an issue for my use, so it doesn't really bother me. The box it came in was destroyed and it had obviously been dragged and banged around. Several areas had chipped paint. This is a shipping issue, not a quality issue. I just sprayed the whole thing with undercoating (which I was going to do regardless.)If you're looking for a well-built front hitch for your 1500 Chevy or GMC, this fits the bill!

This is an install on a 2009 Silverado 1500 WT 4WD, extended cab. On my truck, the air dam is long gone so there was no cutting required. I did remove the front license plate holder but it could have remained. As seen in the first photo, the receiver pushes up a little on where the air dam was attached. It's plastic so not a deal killer on my truck, YMMV. I used a floor jack to position and lift the unit but if you don't have one, it's best to have another set of hands to lift it enough to get the nuts started on the bolts. Now, for the install. Use the supplied wire fishes, threading them on to the end of the bolts. Pull the bolt through the backing plates and you're ready to fish. I did the back one first. The fish wires are long enough to fish the plate in first through the access hole and then pull the bolt through the plate. This goes for the two front ones also. Someone mentioned having to remove the tow hooks. That is not necessary. Using something to pry aside the plastic tabs around the top of the tow hooks, you can feed the plate in first, sliding it on the wire and the push the bolt over top of the tow hooks. Do not try and feed it all at once. Slide the plate in over top of the tow hook then pull on the wire to fish the bolt. It will be fed through the hole in the plate and drop down ready for the nut. The directions say use tape to take up the gap in the frame in the two front attach points. If it' rusty, it's a good idea to take a small wire brush so the tape sticks to the frame and holds up the washers. I used three washers on each side and the tape didn't hold on one side and I had to start that side over again. Best to clean it and use good tape. I used heavy masking tape and it held the washers in position in the frame. Repeat the process for the other front attach point. So now you should have all three bolts hanging down ready to lift the unit in to position. Make sure you have the heavy washers that sit on top of the attach arm with the nubs facing up to the frame. I did one side at a time laying on a mat and using my leg to work the floor jack handle I lifted it enough to get the other nubbed washer facing up and the nut started. Went to the other side and repeated the process. I used a 3/4 deep well socket on a 3/8 drive ratchet to snug them up enough so the taped spacer washers didn't fall out of the frame. On the aft attach point, I used all three of the galvanized flat washers for spacers to clear the splash shield. Put the nubbed washer on that bolt, started the nut and tightened all three with the ratchet. I got them what I thought was tight until I put the torque wrench on them. It took quite a bit of ratcheting to get them to the 75 ft. lbs. of torque but keep in mind the washers are concave and the nubs will need to dig in to the metal to make the unit secure. All total, with no help, it took me an hour and fifteen minutes to do the install. The first photo shows where you will need to cut in to your air dam if you still have one. That photo was taken on an angle. The receiver is actually parallel with the frame.

This thing hangs way too low from the factory. I had to cut it apart and weld it back together in the opposite direction so the reciever didnt hang so low. Now it fits like it should.

Packaging is poor, box arrived with hitch half out of its cardboard box, I had to touch up the paint in quiet a few spots to fix the paint chips. With the sharp corners and weight this product needs to be shipped in a more robust box with some padding.I got the hitch mounted in about an hour, floor jack is helpful, directions are marginal. The product mounts up sturdy and does not stick out past bumper, looks respectable for having a receiver hitch on the front of a truck ,I have it mounted on a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500.
