There are three things that make this bracket better than the one you most likely got with your storm door closer.First of all, it is heavier duty. I compared it with the original bracket and this one is made of thicker and heavier steel.Second of all, and even more important, the screw holes for attaching this bracket to your door frame are not in the same place as the holes from your original bracket. In my case, the original bracket was broken when it was torn out of the door frame by a very strong wind. That means the four screw holes used to attach the original bracket to my door frame were damaged and essentially useless. This bracket has three screw holes different places, meaning I was able to attach it to undamaged parts of the frame.Finally, the screws that come with this bracket are longer than the ones that came with my original bracket. I'm pretty sure they will hold unless we have a tornado, which is unlikely where I live in Massachusetts.

This replacement part is exactly what we needed to fix out storm door from which this part had previously bent. Our storm door isn't blowing wide open on windy days anymore after replacing this part!
