I grow citrus in New England without a greenhouse-- it's a challenge! I tried seedgrowing heating mats and found they just weren't warm enough. This heat mat gets warm enough to help my expensive citrus collection to get through the winter without cold roots and the diseases this can cause. I like the quality and that it is made in the USA.NOTE: My heat mat order didn't arrive at first, but the company quickly responded and sent a replacement.

The product description says up to twenty degrees warmer than room temperature for microgreens trays. I achieved a forty degree temperature difference, Fahrenheit, with three polypropylene microgreen trays on it, placed upon a wooden windowsill, within half an hour. It is the same temperature throughout with no hot spots, and the clear plastic film feels like a very thick mylar type plastic that can't be torn or punctured without great effort, is water and oil repellant, and wipes clean very easily. The connections at the ends are insulated with electrical rubber splicing tape, just laid atop flat plastic sheet, not stretched and wrapped over wire as such tape is normally used. (Stretching makes it stick well.) I think it may too easily be rubbed off if the mat is pulled with weight on it as tripping over the cord could do, or as a child or pet might do. Nothing much will stick well to the clear plastic, making the covering over the contacts an engineering problem, currently it isn't very small-child safe. It is well insulated, but that insulation can be easily peeled away by a kid's tiny fingers.

I love this propagation mat! Very sleek, easy to keep clean, heats immediately. You can order custom sizes, which I will do for next year. One thing though, I recommend buying a thermostat if you don't have one to use with this mat as it seems like it heats up a little more than the cheap ones I have bought before. I have been turning if off in the daytime as the sun keeps my greenhouse plenty warm and just turning it on at night. Working great for me until I get my thermostat. I contacted the manufacturer looking for a thermostat hoping they would make some, but they don't have them now, but said they might have a bunch in the future. Guess I'm not the only one looking. :-) If you are in the market for a heating mat, this is the ONE you need. I can get 3 flats on it, and the mats I used to buy only hold 1 so this one works out to be even cheaper in cost, not quality, it is the BEST!

This thing gets hot! It doesn’t have a thermostat that can be regulated, so it’s one heat setting and that’s that. It did, however, make tomato seeds pop in 2 days. I actually bought 2 and I’m happy with them. I do wish you could control the heat setting.

Was very concerned when the product arrived, the shipping box seemed too small for a quality product. Shipping containers was packed wonderfully, surprised when I removed the Matt as it was as long and wide as advertised. Placed it under our spring seedlings and it is keeping our seedlings nice and warm in our greenhouse. Living in Washington state temp are not extreme but it looks like we are getting great results using this Matt.

I was very impressed with this product. I used it all winter to heat my seedlings. It was warm enough but did not overheat. Easy to clean. A little higher in price than some of its competitors which I also purchased but this one is better quality and made in USA. Would purchase from this company again.

I like these but just realized they have my soul at 112° and very few plants germinating compared to over mats I have. I used the thermostat gauge from another mat for trays on one of these and they are HOT! Anyone know how to lower the heat?!
