I'd heard a sampling of this clock at Simply Mantel, and I'm glad I did (Amazon should consider having this with any chime or musical clock). The only reviewer here didn't like this clock, but I love it! I ordered it for my 89-year-old Mom, and I know she's going to like it. Push it to A mode and it plays hymns. Push it to B and it plays Christmas songs. There's a volume control so that you can set it very low at night if you wish, but I also found out, when trying to make sure it would play on the hour, that the light has to be pretty good for it to play music (it has a light sensor and won't play when it's dark). It's keeping time well too, checked against the TV time. It's true what the other reviewer said, that it's plastic and quite light, but it's still a very nice looking clock IMO, and looks just like the picture. My mother's eyes are dim and this won't be an issue, though the price is pretty high considering that. But I really think the songs are beautiful and much nicer sounding than other chimes/bells I sampled. BTW, I ordered it on Dec 16th and it arrived today, Dec 19th. Can't beat that.

This is such a gorgeous clock! I just got it, it's bigger than I expected, well made, just wonderful. I put the four batteries in the bottom, which started the movement, but not the pendulum. I listened to the test song, the music is clear and rich. My only problem with this is I can't figure out how to insert the the other batteries and get the pendulum to work! The instructions are translated from another language and are pretty vague, and there is no illustration to show how to get in the clock to insert the last two batteries, change the volume, or switch the songs. One other thing, it says that there are only FOUR Christmas songs, not six as stated online. Im editing this review now, as I discovered how to get in the clock. I thought the screw in the top back of the clock was to operate the clock hands, but when I started to turn it, I relalized it was to open the back of the clock. Once you get in there, it's very easy. I love this clock! It's rare for me to splurge like this, but I had some gift money and I can tell already that this is really going to brighten my life. 😊

I have a larger Rhythm wall clock that is gorgeous so I understood the casing is plastic but it really doesn't make any difference. This is a beautiful clock and will be a nice present for my niece in her new house on the mantel. Of course, I had to get one for myself. This model only has 8 songs, 4 Christmas, and 4 hymns, which is not what I'm used to but for the price, you can't beat these clocks. It's much larger than I thought it would be, standing around 9 or 10 inches tall and it looks expensive. And once you put the clock in place no one will know the casing is plastic unless they pick it up. Think of how much more expensive it would be if it were some other material. I think it's beautiful and will make a great gift.

I ordered the white clock. Very pretty to view and enjoy the hourly tunes. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the description of product stated it took AA batteries. The actual batteries needed are very different and luckily I was able to find them on Amazon, shouldn’t surprise me there. Happy so far with my purchase!

My 20-year-old anniversary clock was having some issues but finally stopped working last week. I missed it so much. I ordered this Rhythm Clock (Joyful Crystal Bells) as a gift for myself. I have only had it for a couple of days. It is wonderful! I have the perfect place for it, on top of the entertainment center, turned slightly to face the window. I wanted to make sure it received enough light to work during the day. There are 2 sets of songs, Hymns and Christmas Songs. The Hymns are great. After Thanksgiving, I will change it to the Christmas Carols. Yes, it is plastic, but the music sounds good (not tinny). I would not have been able to afford a clock made of wood and glass. I am so thankful for this clock. Thank you Rhythm and Amazon!

I was going to send it back after 2 days of trying different locations in my house to get it to work with no luck. Then my handsome and brilliant husband said try new batteries. I argued that the clock came with new batteries so that couldn't be it. He put new batteries in and it worked perfectly! I shopped a lot of musical clocks before buying this one. I found the $400 and $500 clocks were also plastic - they played more melodies and were larger but the sound wasn't better than this little beauty! Happy with this lovely clock and I am giving one to my sister. Thankyou!
