I got a set of four 10x30 mats for our deck, because I don't want to scratch it with a shovel. They really are meant for steps or a 30" wide path, because the connectors are too short to do anything else with them (such as making a 10" wide path that is 120" long). They worked great both on the 8" snow we had the other day, and 1" we just had overnight. For safety reasons, I didn't turn them on overnight, I wanted to keep an eye on them. But once I did, the results were obvious within a few hours for the 8" snow, and within about 20 minutes for the second storm. The connectors seem solid and well built.I hooked them to a power monitoring outlet and they drew 385 watts, or about 96 per mat, which is near what the manufacturer claims. Not surprisingly, these don't work well if you lay them on top of the snow. You have to deploy them before the storm. I don't fault them for that, that's not what they advertise.I have the space to store them flat, so that's what I plan to do, given the concerns others have raised about durability after being rolled up again.I didn't have any issues with slipping if it's dry under the mat. If it's wet under the mat, yep - but our deck is slippy when wet in general., so that didn't seem like a problem with the mat. Again, you have to put the mat down before the storm, or you might as well forget about it.

This set of stair treads do melt the snow and ice very well. But they do not have any kind of traction on the top or the bottom so when they are on the stairs and the stairs are wet or you have any kind of snow on your boots they are very slippery. I had to melt the snow and ice on one portion of the stairs and then move them over to melt on the other portion of the stairs for a clear place to walk without falling.

These were great value and are working well so far, about one month. They are not slippery as some have noticed, but if you use ice melt, that can create some slipperiness. I bought the warranty just because some people have had problems from season the season. For 16 bucks it was worth it for the four mats

The mats worked great for one year. A little slippery until the matts were dry. I rolled them up at the end of the season, like they way they were shipped and stored them in the garage. Brought them out 4 weeks ago and all 4 are dead. Moved them around, brought them inside and spent the evening testing each one, still dead. Sad, they worked great, but expensive for a one winter use mat. Checked to see what the warranty was however that information is not available.

I put these on my front door steps and they work perfectly. There’s no on/off switch, so I just plug them in whenever the forecast calls for snow or ice. They don’t get hot to the touch, so no worries regarding pet paws.

This is a life saver in North Idaho! I wish I bought the larger one. but for the money this was a great first pick. Seems to hold up to the weather and just enough heat. Some other ones I looked at others that had hotter settings, but its not necessary.

This product worked great in the snow but as soon as it rained this product shorts out and trips the circuit. I have tried to contact the seller for support but have been unsuccessful.

These mats warm up fast, but they are pretty much unusable due to how slippery they are. I thought maybe I had them on the wrong side, but no, both sides slippery. I plan to buy some sand and some spray adhesive to try and salvage these mats. I don’t know if this will work or not, but it’s my only hope of being able to use them. The whole idea of having them was NOT to fall, not guaranteed to fall.
