Make sure that this connector is the same as the one you need, it will not fit an Elura 100 camcorder, but works for other applications.

I purchase this to use as an extension for a mouse. It did not work at all for several devices I tried. I purchased another cable from a local store and all the devices work fine.

The wire itself is fine, I found out the hard way that newer operating systems don't support most older firewire devices, they just don't support the firmware/drivers.
