Each line has a short, quick-loading head for minimizing the number of false casts, and for quick, easy distance, and a color contrast between the head and the running line to easily show the line’s loading point. In addition, each line is built with a Hang Marker that shows anglers when to stop stripping, and when to fish the “hang”, and features RIO’s “Density Compensation” (except Type 7) for complete fly control.

I use this consistently. used this for backing for a full sinking trolling line, so anticipate being into backing routinely, wanted a reliable line which this is.

I live in a lake that goes from 5-26’. Nothing but nymphs work. The fish move a lot to different depths all year. A guy told me about this line and how you can fish easily different depths. My catch tripled! Incredible idea.

The Rio backing is excellent. I set this up with the Rio Gold WF6 fly line and it looks and performs great. Good buy.

Very disappointed, for tippet the line on both spools is not smooth and not just the first few meters. The line appears clean but the line is not consistent in diameter, feels and looks lumpy along the length. I have used RIO lines in the past without issue and now would not recommend the 2x. I would have returned both spools but unfortunately disposed of the packaging prior to checking the product.
