Excellent product, delivered on time, with excellent seller followup. Note that the combination is initially hard to turn - intentionally. It is a bit tricky to hold the tool in the combination setting hole, while also turning the dials. If you let go, the combination will be set incorrectly! That said, the product is excellent, fits well in both handguns and shotgun. Seller followed up to ensure satisfaction.

Cheap but effective, they do what they're supposed to, and no keys to lose. This will deter someone - including you - from making one of your guns operational quickly. Good for storage, but it would be pretty stupid to put one of these on a home defense weapon, as the numbers are hard to read and the cylinders are hard to turn to a precise setting on the first try. Get a lockbox for your nightstand, these are for storage. Only real complaint is that the plastic coating on the cable is kind of cheap, and closing the action on a semi-auto can take a bite out of it. If you don't want to store your semi-auto with the slide or bolt locked fully open, use a soft plastic chamber flag to hold the action open, and let the cable free float. Less chance of damaging the extractor that way too, depending on the specific gun.

It comes with a mini screwdriver so you can quickly and easily reset the combination. The mechanics are smooth and everything operates great. You don't have to worry about losing your key. If you do forget your combination, you can eventually get it unlocked. You just have to try 1000 times.This should help you not get shot by your own gun, and prevent family members from getting into it. I don't think it will deter someone from stealing your gun because they will eventually be able to crack the code, eventually (just a maximum of 1,000 tries). It's good for a warm-and-fuzzy and redundant level of security. I wouldn't leave a gun laying in the living room with this and expect everything to be fine. I'd still recommend at least a hidden storage away from traffic. But, none of this should be a surprise. It does what it says it will.This works on many sizes of pistols, shotguns, and rifles (that I have tried it on, at least). These locks work as described.

The lock fits perfect around my closet doors! It’s much easier to get a combination rather than keys because believe it or not, I initially got one that came with keys and lost it a few days after; had to cut the wire out and everything. Looks exactly like the photo.

The cable lock itself is 100% functional, sturdy and can be adapted to several configurations. However the reason I give it 3 stars because the numbers are very difficult to spin AND see. In any light there is very bad glare and I can barely make out the numbers.The cheap TSA locks are less secure but much easier to unlock and program. Something to consider for the next version of these locks.Definitely this is not a lock that you should use for quick unlock of your items.

Just go to YouTube and you'll find tutorials on how to pick any lock. The point is to make sure you teach proper safety and respect for firearms, and to layer your safety. Multiple points of protection like trigger or cable locks as well as storing all firearms in a locked cabinet or safe, and keeping any amunition locked away separately.
