This jig worked very well for my cabinet project. It clamped solidly to the surface and didn't shift accidentally at any point. The pin holes were straight and snug with the standard commercial pins. The two hole size options are excellent, as well as the adjustability of the hole distance. The jig overall feels very solid and like it will last a long time if taken care of.One note for carpenters. If you're drilling into plywood, it's worth pinning a thin sheet of mdf or hardboard on top of your plywood when drilling with this jig. The provided drill bits create some tear out that would be minimized by a top layer. Alternatively, you could try using a different set of bits than the ones supplied, but I don't know if that would stop the problem completely.

Great jig. Very sturdy, has the ability to drill two of the most common shelving sizes, and everything except the drill is included. Or builder was pretty sloppy when drilling or closet shelf panels. We were able to use this to go back and bar clean-up. I’d highly recommend.

The shelf pin jig is very easy to use and provide repeatable pin positing. While working on building a slide in medicine cabinet, there was a bit of a challenge in getting the jig close enough to the outside edges. I had to resort to flipping the knurled knobs to come in from the top. I was then able to place the shelf pin holes where i wanted them. All in all the jig is very flexible and provides nicely spaced holes that are repeatable.

I am building eight 8-foot bookcases right now and need to drill countless holes for shelf pins. This is my first shelf pin jig. I find this amazingly easy to use (and get the holes just right). While it does not completely eliminate the possibility of human error, it does make it reasonably easy to get them right.
