The Milescraft is far better than any other centering jig I have used. It is easy to set up, offers choices for bit sizes, and -most important - the holes are centered.

Milescraft is known for making serviceable equipment at very affordable prices. The 1334 jig is no exception. It performs the same as the "big boys" that cost 200.00 US and more. I know, I have a much more expensive jig. The 1334 does everything that the high priced jig does. It is easy to use and configure. The accuracy is top notch. You can't go wrong.

I am very pleased with this jig. Several notable things: (1) very versatile, one can move parts of the jig around and adjust it for almost any imaginable situation. (2) manual is very detailed and is actually written in English (not garbled Chinese English), manual is a document which one can understand, follow, and get the most from the tool, (3) very well packaged in a compact carton, one can use the tool and then fit all the pats back into the box and store it in the box. It is not a plastic container, but cardboard works well, especially considering the price of the tool. I was lazy to get my Domino joiner out, and was able to complete a small project with a couple of dozens of dowels very easily and quickly. Also, dowels and spare drills are very inexpensive.

If you were like me and saw all those YouTube people using the domino and not being able to afford the ridiculous 1200 price tag and wondering what could work in place of it. This is it.It isn't as fast as the domino, but set up for this job is quick and the tools/ parts provided with it are a perfect fit to each other. With a collet on the drill bits for your desired depth and easy adjustability. There are a few plastic parts but most of the body is aluminum and feels very durable. The jig has stop guides on each side/ edge of the jig where you still the holes with which helped save me a lot of time with lining everything up.For those wanting to add another level of jointery this is an excellent pick.

I ended up buying this tool after seeing reviews of the Dowelmax doweling jig and thinking I might need one. They are expensive. When I realized that this jig had nearly the same capabilities, but with a simpler design and was much cheaper, I decided to give it a go before dropping 5x on the Drillmax. I'm glad I saved myself some money, because after building a couple of projects with this jig I realize that it is quick and easy to set up, dowel holes (and joined faces) align perfectly, and I can't imagine that the more expensive jig would produce better results. It completely meets my needs at a fraction of the cost and with a less complex user experience.

This jig worked really well in my application (doweling rails and stiles of cabinet doors). I found it well designed and versatile. The only issue I faced is that when I used the right/center holes of the 1/4" bushing on one workpiece, and then used the left/center holes of the 1/4" bushing on another workpiece, the shoulder of the resulting joint was about 1/64" out of alignment (the surfaces aligned perfectly). I worked around this by skipping the plastic red stop and instead aligning the workpiece to the jig using a 1-2-3 block with a few layers of masking tape to make the workpiece slightly proud of the jig. I got great, consistent results after this.

Excellent dowel jig that delivers on its promises. It's accurate, easy to set up, easy to use and delivers consistent results every time. Everything you need to make dependable and reliable dowel joints (with the exception of the drill bits and stop collars) are in the box. I really like the setup blocks that are included for 1/2" and 5/8" on the 1/4" dowel block, 5/8" and 3/4" on the 5/16" dowel block, and 3/4" and 1-1/2" on the 3/8" combination dowel block and center finder (with included pencil). I watched a couple of YouTube videos on the easiest way to set this jig up and use it and it literally took me about 5 minutes to replicate everything I watched and put into practice with this jig. I purchased a self centering dowel jig and that was a nightmare to set up and use because every time I changed the thickness of material I had to recenter it again, sent that back, paid the extra 10$ and got this instead, I certainly don't regret the extra cost. The reason for the 4â is because I also bought the Milescraft 200 jig kit (that also works extremely well) and that came with all the drill bits, stop collars and an assortment of dowels and a hard carrying case for storage, but was cheaper than this jig? So why didn't Milescraft put the drill bits in this kit? Anyway, I am happy with my purchase and looking forward to some decent weather (-18°C in Ontario Canada this morning) to get out in the garage and make some furniture for home and the trailer. If you are looking for a no nonsense dowel jig for a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with this one.
