About this item

  • 🚩【Auxiliary Power for Home Circuits】: The RVMATE generator manual transfer switch is rated at 15A 125V and provides auxiliary power to your home circuits. It allows you to safely connect the generator to your home's electrical system, supplying power to essential circuits such as the refrigerator, heating, outlets, lighting, and more. During short-term power outages, it can quickly and safely switch to emergency power, preventing risks like food spoilage and frozen pipes. Additionally, it enables your heating system to restart during power outages caused by winter storms.
  • 🚩【Safety in Use】: The RVMATE transfer switch is equipped with a circuit breaker for manual switching between circuits. It automatically cuts off the circuit if the current exceeds 15A, providing overload protection to prevent overheating or damage to electrical appliances, ensuring the safety of you and your family. To resume operation, simply press the reset button, and the circuit will be reconnected, restoring normal functionality. Our generator transfer switch has separate ETL certifications for switches, overload protection, and sockets, and the overall product has ETL certification.
  • 🚩【Pre-drilled Hole Design】: The RVMATE 15A generator inlet box is designed with pre-drilled holes, allowing for easy disassembly and replacement of wire connectors without the need for special tools like drills or hole punchers, and without requiring assistance from an electrician. This saves both time and money.
  • 🚩【Green Indicator Light】: When the mains power is cut off, turn the switch to "GENERATOR" and connect the generator to the inlet of the box. Start the generator, and the "GENERATOR POWER ON" indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the load is powered by the generator. Note: The light indicates that power is available from the generator.
  • 🚩【Weatherproof & Anti-rust】: The power inlet box is made of steel and features a durable, anti-corrosive powder-coat paint. This design ensures that the box is resistant to rust and can withstand harsh weather conditions. Additionally, the weatherproof flip cover can be closed when the box is not in use, effectively preventing moisture from entering the connector inlet.

This is a new brand to me, but well satisfied with the quality, fit and finish. easy install clear labeled wires, only time will tell how well it holds up. perfect for my application of connecting my gas furnace to generator when power goes off and price was a plus

Cost was low ~ $33; Was well built for this purpose. Note that this unit is set-up to switch the neutral in addition to the hot line. In some cases, that means if your generator is not grounded some equipment may not operate because you might have a floating ground. Very happy with this product.

This product is made by Everdevelop and listed under several different manufacturers on Amazon, all for about the same price. Fit and finish are very nice. The box is sturdy and nothing about it feels cheap. The knockouts come pre-punched with covers. They are standard 3/4" knockouts (~1" outside diameter). Both hot and neutrals are switched. All wires have clear labels indicating line and load. To operate with an unswitched neutral the easiest option is to tie both the Line and Load neutral wires together with your circuit Line and Load neutrals. You could instead remove the connectors from the switch, but you would lose the generator power indicator LED, as that is jumpered from one of the leads. The wires are all 12GA stranded. The box is only rated for 15A, but that is because the inlet is a NEMA 5-15 (standard grounded wall plug). For the box to handle 20A it would need to be a NEMA 5-20, which would mean that you would have to use a 20A extension cord.To use this with a boiler, I opted to connect it to the emergency shut off switch. To do this you need:* 1/2" offset conduit nipple (1)* 1/2" conduit nuts (2)* 3/4" conduit reducing washers (2)

Working fine after I determined how to set it up, Be careful to follow the wiring diagram. Use an ohm meter to insure which wires will be input and output before hooking up and insure you don't mix up the hot and neutrals.

I purchased this to be able to add backup power to my parent's furnace in the event of a power outage. I expected to receive this and see it assembled with the cheapest, no-name, unlisted parts but all of the components (with the exception of maybe the indicator) were UL listed registered components (RU mark). The whole enclosure was UL listed and came with plenty of lead length and well marked conductors.I feel confident in the quality of this unit and would gladly recommend it to others for a cost-effective solution to add a manually operated backup power source option to a single 15A circuit in your home.

I installed this myself, with only intermediate electrical skills, as a generator hookup for my gas boiler. I have used it several times when the electricity went out, and has been perfect.
