Bought this speedo/tach combination to replace the old analog unit on a 1978 Suzuki I am customizing. Install is NOT easy whatsoever, but if you're doing custom motorcycle work already you should be prepared for that. After fabricating a bracket and figuring out the mess of wiring and how to mount the speedometer sensor, this thing works great. Looks awesome, and the speed seems quite accurate. I was absolutely blown away that the gear position sensor plugged right into the original clip from over 40 years ago and works flawlessly. My only other complaints would be that the wiring coming out is a little short (which required several wires to be lengthened to reach the stock wiring harness) and the gas level indicator can't be removed from the screen (my bike never had one, the wire not being hooked up to anything causes an empty gas tank warning to blink all the time).

I want to like this so bad because its perfect for my current streetfighter project.... but and this is a major but. I have had to remap the entire cluster plug completely to get it to turn on let alone actually work for anything except the speedometer. It has been a major pain I wasn't expecting plug and play but there are littarly no instructions. The installation is printed on printer paper and gives you 0 inclination on how or what to do to install it. The speed sensor that it comes with needs a bracket that it does not come with to mount it. The cluster needs a mounting bracket that it does not come with. I'm normally not one to complain but this has been a nightmare and I'm considering sending it back and going with a different type all together.

The first time this product got wet, half the screen wanted to work SOMETIMES. It was a real issue reading this in the day time aswell,

The spedo on my Chinese 2020 Hawk 250 is crap. It was loud and inaccurate. I bought this to replace it.If you have a Hawk 250 , you will need to build a new mounting bracket. Just grab a piece of sheet metal and go to work... The wiring took some fanageling, but there are some youtube videos on how to hook it up.Don't think you can do this in an hour...Itl take longer. But it is well worth it!!! You will see people using two of the spoke magnets. I only used one for my front brake rotor on the closest in to the bearing, and found setting 8 to be the best speed setting. If you have a smart phone, down load a speedometer app and match the speeds. This speedometer also has a gear indicator. I really don’t need it but its actually kinda nice. The chinese hawk 250 is wired for a gear indicator. It is the black wire and plug coming out of the front sprocket guard. I simply bought an 18 gauge trailer wire extension for $5 at harbor freight and wired it to the speedometer. I suggest all hawk owners do it! Its worth it! Also- the tachometer is an easy hookup... just take off the gas tank and connect to the condensor... its that black rectangle thing mounted to the frame directly above the motor. See which one is kicking out the current and splice into it to get the tach going.

this is taken from my notes on the product...the instructions do not tell you how to get into the right mode with the speedo, that is turn it off and press the left button on the speedo face and turn it back on... wait for it to fully initialize then remove your finger, keeping the button pressed all the time the screen will blank out all but a set of numbers3 didgets a space and 2 didgetsunfortionately the instructions say Frequency not wheel size and that missled me for a long while I have a 21" front wheel on my single cylinder XR650L and stock it was reading 30mph at 60mph on thestreet.... ( they assume your putting it on a scooter I guess !)Samdo Speedo notes...............Twas a PITA to hook up ! (obviously )the settings for the speedo are really bad. the instructions say one thing and the speedo says something else entirely for instance on the setting the number of cylinders the instructions say select the number of cylinders 1-4 but the speedo only gives you 2 options 2 or 4 so I put it on 2 selecting the proper wheel size is a nightmare... but it is easiest to remember that the first 3 numbers SHOULD be 018 .... the fuel gauge which I do not have has 1 2 3 4 in the speedo but no zero so I can't turn it off. like wise for most all the other settings that they brag about on this speedo the speedo and instructions do not match at all. so you are left with guessing ... the speedo gave me 30 mph at about 60 mph... so I tried to adjust wheel size ... the instructions call that frequency not wheel size.... finally I figured out that it was set at 017 so I set it to 018 and we shall see what it says when I ride it again. I expect I will have to adjust that number up as the bike has 21" diam. wheels in the front. maybe I can just put in 021 and it will be right on it, but that is not what the instructions say to do. .... the tachometer seems to be right on it despite the cylinder selection being wrong. this bike is a single cylinder and it is set for 2 cylinder. so I am going to leave it alone ! however the speedometer being so far off bugs me.... I will continue to adjust it up till it works correctly ...... I like the Speedo it's good looking and easy to read the turn signals are hard to see in the bright sunlight... but other wise work great. ...... Bob..... 5/20/2023

I fix fighterjets for a living so the instructions were manageable but I imagine some people might have a hard time figuring it out. You will likely have to build a new bracket to hold it on as I did. Once installed everything worked well except for the clock, seller offered to replace clock if I sent the old one back. Too much work went into installing that one for me to bother having it replaced for the time. (time displays but does not change when bike is off, returns to last time displayed). Everything else compatible with my bike works great. I recommend this product and the seller.
