Yet again a full five stars for Sculpey. I was hoping I wouldn't need this stuff and I tried some home remedies for softening my clay but I gave in when my way went south (Mineral Oil).When you get some of the effects clays they can be hard. So far the Opal, Trans and Glow in the Dark clays needed this. I know people have to rotate their stocks so the potential of getting a brand new, right off the line, freshly packaged block is out of my expectations so, I bought this.How easy is it to use? Well, I am not healthy and thus I am weak. I need the clay to be really soft or I have to take the next day off of using my hands. So, the kids bake is perfect texture for me. So, with the hard stuff I put it into a container, broke it up as best I could with my blade then put the drops on sparingly like the instructions said. I left it over night and although a bit chunky, it softened up well. I am going to get my mortar and pestle out for the rest of my clay that has hardened. BTW, I don't see this as a flaw, thus the five stars. It isn't a flaw because it is expected and reasonably explainable.

Super helpful for polymer clay projects; just be sure to check it and make sure it doesn't stink. It will have a normal, kinda chemical smell if it's fine. I kept a bottle for a couple of years though, and it started to have like a horrible rotten sour smell, and it was very potent. So, it does expire.

I bought some polymer clay on clearance at Michael's and it was SO CRUMBLY. I did a little research and found this came highly recommended to help with reconditioning polymer clay. So far so good, turned clay powder into workable clay. Also tried this on the Dollar Tree clay that had horrible reviews and after adding three drops to each bar it feels almost like Sculpty.I still have to fire these pieces in my oven but so far it feels and works like brand new fresh higher end clays.

I loved this product. A key element is a sandwich baggie if you are using Sculpey Clay Softener on solid clay. Without a baggie it will be messy and the color pigment will discrete from the clay and get on hands. The price is low and I received it early.

Funciona perfeitamente e vale cada centavo. Usei algumas gotas, amassando com as mãos e passando pela máquina de macarrão duas vezes. O cheiro não é agradável, mas é fraco. A clay que parecia um pedaço de madeira, agora está super macia. Porém, vaza um pouco pelo dosador e a embalagem chegou toda molenga ( não sei se pelo próprio produto que vazou ou por outra coisa ). Recomendo e comprarei novamente quando acabar, mas espero que tenham um cuidado maior e que o fabricante resolva os problemas da embalagem.

I was skeptical about this product but when I got a large package of clay that must have been kept in a too warm place I ordered the drops product. It took more than a drop or too and I had to hammer it into the clay and work it for some time by hand. I suggest once you’ve done this, you make what you planned and bake it. I wrapped mine tightly and placed in air tight bag but in two months it was quite hard again so I used the drops again and repeated the job of softening the clay. If it hadn’t taken a month to come I would have returned the clay. That’s why I chose to try the softener instead. Anyway my home made containers turned out great. I’d keep a bottle of it around for clay that dried too quickly in shipping.

War anfangs etwas überrascht, dass die Flasche gar so klein ist. Aber es reicht. Man braucht wirklich nur wenige tropfen um alten, bröseligen Polymer clay wieder weich zu bekommen. Definitiv eine Kauf- Empfehlung.

Bought this to rejuvenate some very hard and crumbly 12 year old Super Sculpey and Fimo, both of which were in opened packets and had been lying in a cupboard for years. It took a fair bit of work, but the result was good as new clay which was easy to work with and baked perfectly.With rock hard, crumbly clay, I tried several methods, both of which worked. Method one was using a scalpel to slice up the clay into manageable chunks, putting it through a pasta roller and adding the clay softener to the resulting mass of crumbs. Method two was crushing the dried out clay in a bag and adding softener. Both then required a LOT of kneading, rolling and use of the pasta roller, adding more softener when I thought it was needed. The result was worth it though. I have bought a load of new clay, but it's pleasing to be able to use up this old stuff first.
