I just received the card reader yesterday so I can only give my initial impressions. I’m rating this a 4 for now because I haven’t had it long enough to do a full evaluation. Out of the box, this seems like a good, solidly-built reader that does all it claims to do. I inserted it into my 2016 iPad Pro and it immediately prompted me to download the xDisk app. I opened the app and it was able to read my internal drive as well as the 128GB Samsung SD card that I had inserted into the reader. I had previously copied a few video files to the drive and the xDisk app was able to play all of them (MP4, MKV, M4V, AVI). The connectors seem like they have a tight fit into the devices so I’m not worried about it falling out. The plugs are all protected by plastic covers but there’s nothing attaching the covers to the reader so there’s a risk that you can lose the covers. That shouldn’t be a big issue long term - I have an older reader that I lost the cover for years ago and it still works just fine. I haven’t tried using it to offload any of my pictures but I automatically sync them with multiple online services so I don’t know if I’ll use that feature. I can see it being useful if you take a lot of pictures and don’t have an internet connection to offload/back up, however. The big enhancement I'd like to see is integration with the iOS Files app. That would bump this to 5 stars for me.So far, I’m happy with my purchase.

Since it can connect using lightening port, USB- C and USB slot, i can connect to my macbook or windows laptop and also to the newer version of iphone and older model ipad . Easy to use and small device easy to carry

I used this device for the first time last night, to back up my numerous song drafts I've written for hit songs, plus my other music compositions on an extra Samsung Micro SD card. I'm a songwriter and musician and I wanted to back up all of my material on more than one sd card for fear of what would happen if any of my music compositions got erased accidentally that potentially could be a total disaster! This could potentially be the lost of perhaps thousands, if not even hundreds of thousands dollars potentially in earnings and royalties. This card reader drive did the job perfectly! It also out does whatever card reader drive they offer to borrow at a local library's computer room. Their readers are usually very crapy in quality and one could risk losing their files during the transferral process, especially if the library is about to close and shut their computers off abruptly! With this card reader you can forget all of that! An IT Technician should have one of these among other equipment. Buy this you won't be disappointed! This device works and WORKS WELL! Not only are you able to transfer files, photos, even while folders even from an inserted sd card in the reader and burn, move,or copy files on to the SD card in your phone, but you can also do it THE OTHER WAY AROUND that is, transferring or copying files from the SD card on your phone to the SD card inserted into the reader drive. One note of advice, just make sure you do not move this reader drive that's plugged into your charger outlet while you are transferring or sending files! Doing so might interfere with the data transferral and thus cause your data to be lost! It's great, I have all the music I've written on more than one sd card now, thanks to this useful handy tool! Beats using the computers at a local library working within a strict time frame. Plus, it can plug into an outlet for android, i-phone, or the other type of phone charger outlet. Works for all three types of phone charger outlets! Saved you a lot worries!

War ja erst skeptisch, dann aber völlig überzeugt: funktioniert einwandfrei an 2 verschiedenen IPads, HUAWEI P30 pro und Windows-PC (Win Prof 10). Bei jedem Gerät wurde die vom SD Karte des Fotoapparates sofort erkannt und Fotos bzw Datenaustausch (auch Dokumente) war ohne Probleme möglich, sogar auf dem 3 Jahre alten IPad und dem zweiten IPad ebenfalls (auch Filme oder Fotos direkt von der Karte ansehen). Wie bei evtl. Problem des nichterkennens beim IPad zu verfahren ist, hat bereits ein anderer Kunde sehr gut erklärt. Bei uns hat aber alles direkt funktioniert. Auch beim PC oder den Android Handys. Datenaustausch, kopieren, war an jedem Gerät kein Problem. Werde noch einen Kartenleser als Geschenk bestellen. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
