step 1
Pull down the security board
Open the grinding chain utensil

Fix the chain to the position shown

close the outer casing of the chain cutter
and Push the security board
step 4
gently squeeze the chain saw down
until it touches the grindstone.

This product did not work, the plastic was shredded by the chainsaw in seconds, the closure pin to keep housing closed wouldn't stay latched. Sharpener stone was off centered. I'm not waiting it doesn't work just that it did not work for the saw we have. But I'm not overly worried as it was rather cheap to begin with so I'm only really it $10ish dollar bucks, I wish I still had them but it read worth a shot to see if it helped or not.

It grinds on the top, or outside of the cutting blades. Makes a little difference, but ultimately wrecks the blades. I don't see how anyone can say it works. I got my money back, so I gave them 3 stars

So the product is a bust. It did not sharpen my blades, I tried two different sets and no luck. Also, if you ha e to take out the 2nd pin like I did, then you have to be super careful to not start moving the blade until you have everything in place. Otherwise you will chop up the plastic. I disengage the blade until it was all in place and running so I wouldn't chop it up.I gave two stars because the seller was great to work with. I'd buy from them again, but not this product. It's useless.

the advertisement stating that this works with a one hole chain blade is incorrect. I tried to install on my chainsaws and it would not work without destroying the unit. I DID NOT use it for this reason and would like to return it. I was hoping that it would work since it would be so much easier to sharpen chains; but it is not properly engineered and likely to cause major injuries.

This is a nice thick plastic case with a stiff, but easy to use, locking mechanism. The blade easily latches onto the case, and the grinding stone is easy to push down with the lever for the right tension. With how often I use my chainsaw, and the fact that it comes with spare grindstone, this sharpener is easily going to last years to come
