I needed to take the temperature of a ram on the farm but didn't have a thermometer. My husband picked one up for me. I get out to the field to take the temperature and realize that the thermometer isn't digital. (I know I should've pulled it out of the case and looked at it.) I haven't used a non-digital thermometer in decades. Plus, I didn't have my readers so wouldn't be able to read it, even if I could remember how to take it correctly. I came inside and immediately when to Amazon to locate a digital thermometer that would arrive in a couple of days. Viola, done! The thermometer arrives. This time I do look over the thermometer. Everything looks ready to go. It came with the battery. Went out, again, to check the temperature of the ram and was successful! Super simple to use. Pull off the sheath, push the button (it should have an "L"), and insert the thermometer. Within about 8 seconds, I had the temperature. Also has a nice case to keep it in when not in use. I definitely recommend.

You would think they would test the product before sending. I even tried replacing battery but it still doesn’t turn on. Frustrating because I am super busy trying to get my business started and part of that is having an equine first aid kit. Now I have another errand that I don’t have time for to return the thermometer.

The thermometer looks nice and came well packaged. Seems to work well after removing the plastic under the battery.

Tired of human grade digital thermometers not working when you need them (dead batteries etc)??These are the way to go. Comes with a case. Professional looking and just the right size

It is easy to use and seems accurate. It is very large - almost a foot long - so it is a good thing the horse doesn't know what's coming. I wish that the business end was a bit more rounded. There is a taper at the end, so the rounded insertion end is smaller than I expected. It is not a point, nor is it sharp, but it is much slimmer than my old mercury filled horse thermometer with its bulb on the end. I bought this to add to a traveling equine emergency kit, but I think now I will keep this one for barn use, and take my old mercury thermometer on the road so I don't have to worry about battery life.

Purchased to use for horses. So much easier and faster than the long metal probe that might get lost inside your horse. Only takes seconds instead of minutes. Horse doesn't squirm around.

the thermometer took too long to get her came with out a battery the the piece that hold the battery in is cheap came with no instructions or paper works
