This leather isn't full grain. It had a defect in the middle of the face side of the leather. It came rolled up, so there was no way it couldve been marred in shipping. It's too thin to be full grain in any way. It's soft and the color is good. But I wouldn't make anything with marred material. So half of the leather isnt usable for a large project like a handbag.

This leather arrived rolled up and plastic wrapped and was well protected for shipping. It is lightweight (I measured 1.1 - 1.2 mm which equates to 3 oz leather), chrome tan leather dyed evenly and consistently with a smooth minimally textured finish. Contrary to what one reviewer wrote, this IS genuine full grain leather. Thickness is not a measure of leather quality, it is just a measure of thickness: different thicknesses are suited for different techniques and purposes.I deducted one star because there is a shallow (approx. 3/4" long) cut in the finished surface of the leather right near the middle of the piece. It appears to be a very clean, fresh cut which was presumably made after the hide was tanned, not a mark from the living animal's hide. It is a small cut, but the location in the middle of the piece is very unfortunate.

This 12x24" leather sheet is quality leather cowhide. It is 1.3mm thick and is easy to cut. Very soft and supple, and easy to work with. This can be used for a myriad of projects, such as purses, wallet(s), pouches, keychains, hand-enbossed labels, decorative leather tabs for baskets, straps, etc. It is smooth to the touch and foldable and, comes in a roll tied with a piece of twine, safely encased in a thick piece of plastic for protection inside the shipping bag. The color is a rich, deep black. I am really happy with this piece and would be happy to order it again.

Excellent piece of dyed black leather. Soft, supple, blemish free, this will be good for fashion or decorative pieces. This is a thinner piece of leather, and not tooling leather, or appropriate for things like belts. It's garment quality leather.The entire piece is dyed black, with the fashion side having the glossy finish we expect from high end leather goods. Great for bag making.
