You will need to leave this someplace to air out before using it on food.Once I did this then I felt ok to use it and after washing it a few times.I do like the size of this oneIt works well for smaller cookie batches and pastries. Not one I like to use for rolling out a pie crust because when i did felt like it was taking forever compared to my regular full sizzed rolling pin.Really like the no stick feature of this one.Was easy to work with and get my dough the thickness I wanted.Overall I do like this one more than I thought I would when I first opened it.

The first thing I noticed after opening the package for this silicone rolling pin was a chemical smell. I sniffed at the silicone part of it and it has a strong odor that is not going away after a few days of it setting out in the open in my home. The other thing is that it is slender. I did not know they made skinny rolling pins, but I am not big on baking so maybe I missed something over time and things have changed.Other than those two things, the rolling pin seems to be well made. It feels sturdy and it rolls smoothly without any catches or grating sounds. Not so sure I want to recommend it because of that strong odor. If someone knows how to get rid of that, then I would say it is a good light duty rolling pin. I gave it three stars because it seems to be sturdy and well made.
