I love how simple it is. It’s better than a block of wood which also works but this is super convenient and accurate.Typically I end up using whatever I find on the job site to scribe with. This will help you get predictable results and it holds the number 2 pencil tightly in place.

Works.. the pencil is loose and if your trying to hold a work piece it's not good. I had to wrap my pencil in some electrical tape to get a tight fit.

This is the perfect tool to match a built-in bookcase to the wall--the wall is uneven and I wanted to minimize gaps. I can easily draw a line with an offset that matches the wall. Great tool to have around.
