I was mid flight and the end came off and I ended up with a heck of a mess beciase half of the string fell with the end.

Just as described. Also included is good quality string and and a ball bearing swivel to connect the kite to. I don't know if the string is tied to the handle, so I'll have to check before I let the kite fully out. I tested the handle on a small simple kite in 5 mph wind it did well.

The line appears very strong. The product also comes with a nice metal leader to secure the line to your kite. Once the kite is in the air, the line releases smoothly and evenly. My only concern is that the spool handles are separated from the spool itself and need to be inserted. While I sometimes worry that a handle may slip loose of the spool while the kite is in the air, this has not yet happened. Indeed, I have taken my mid-sized kite up to the full 600 feet of line on several occasions without incident.

I have flown kites for a while and I love this spool style. When these got here, I was mildly shocked to see them without the handles only to find they snap into place. This new working style makes them easier to store
