Update Review: This net originally had a hole in it which was extremely disappointing so I was returning it. I got contacted by the seller asking if I would like a full refund or another improved net. I chose to get the improved net after checking that it wasn't the same I received. The seller followed through and sent me another net that is incredibly sturdy. All the while, they were incredibly courteous and helpful. I highly recommend both the seller and the net. THANK YOU!Old review: This seemed like the perfect answer for our hot tub debris and the skim basket debris as well. This came with a hole (net separating from the frame). When I touched to check whether it was fixable, the net continued to separate from the frame even with the lightest pressure. Would most certainly not work.

I have been PETRIFIED of frogs all of my life. I almost decided not to put a pool in our backyard due to how I would deal with these creatures when caught inside the baskets. Then I was told that snakes, mice, moles and other critters could also be found and that by the time you got down on your knees and put your hand in to get the basket out, you could be bitten by a snake or had to touch whatever else is in the basket. You get so low on your knees that whatever is in the water, is on your face. For 3 days while my husband and kids were gone for the week, I got to scoop out 5 frogs two of which were still alive. 😫. Every morning I was terrified of what was in the basket. My daughter suggested I look on Amazon because someone had to have come up with a tool where I didn’t have to stick my hand in the basket. Found this amazing tool which lifts the basket without me having to bend down at all. The inserts for the basket easily attach to the basket you already have and makes pulling the basket up more stable and easier to lift away from you so no live frogs jumping on you! My husband and I are in our 50’s and being able to use this tool without having to get on the floor. He is not afraid of anything inside the basket but has appreciated not having to get on his knees to pull the basket out. Game changer!

Bought this for my husband who has had both knees replaced and is the primary person taking care of our pool. He loves all the features: The hook to lift the cover and the basket; the water tube to collect water for testing; and the net for cleaning the basket and small items from pool. Our 3 year old grandson also likes to help his Papaw now with the net scoop. He loves getting the little bugs and leaves out. Great product!

I'm not young anymore (69), but still do my own pool maintenance. Cleaning out the skimmer basket has become more of a chores lately, because getting up from a kneeling position is hard. This tool is great! It removes the lid from the skimmer basket, and since I use skimmer socks (another great idea), I just hook the handle of the skimmer basket and pull it out. Replace the skimmer sock, drop the basket back in, and use the hook to put the lid back on. Done!

Had been using a homemade stick with a hook for years to pull up the lid on the basket of my inground pool. Never would stick my hand down there to clean basket out as I'm scared of bugs and frogs and basically anything dead or alive floating around. Realizing I was needing the hubby to make a new homemade stick (as the old one was cracking), I thought, what the heck, I'll check Amazon to see what they offer. Lo and behold I found this little gadget called The Skimmie. Ordered it and it does what I need it to do! It is a very sturdy pole and the hook so far seems secure. The net works great to skim the floating stuff off the top of the basket area. Mine did arrive with a small hole in the net part - so I guess we will see how long that lasts. For now, I'm giving The Skimmie 5 stars just because I am in a good mood today and it felt like the right thing to do. Ya'll have a great day - Aunt Pittypat!!

Didn't even last 2 weeks, no way to get in touch with seller to deal with replacing the one yellow plastic pull out. The hook and net is a great concept but broke pulling out simple leaves from my skimmer. No way that was 25 lbs. Wish they coated metal or used better material. No way to contact vendor for resolve.
