We needed a secondary lock for our sliding glass door due to our toddler. This was easy to install and works perfect for our application. Spring unlock by press of a button. Easy to lock. It’s out of the way and not noticeable. It does not replace a deadbolt style lock, however does work very well to keep the door closed with a toddler running around. We have had installed for several months and use it daily.

Our sliding door lock got broken and we did not want to spend thousands to replace it just for the lock. Installed this and it has been sturdy and perfect. It’s nice when you have kids because it’s installed at the top of the door for safety.

Works well. Easy to operate. I did not give it 5 stars however, because sometimes the locking mechanism doesn't engage right away (on the first push of the locking pin). When this happens, you have to move the door ever so slightly forwards or backwards to get the lock to engage. I'm thinking that if the slots on the catch plate were a tad larger the problem would go away. Not a deal breaker though. I still think it's a good product that works well.

I initially wanted a different type of door lock than this one. We saw one at our Westin Timeshare with a bar that goes from the door frame to the door. I ordered that type, but it would not fit on our door and frame properly. I saw this as an alternative. It was easy to install, looks, and works better than the bar type. It is just as secure, if not more so. This one is also easier to lock and unlock.

I installed the lock above and it works great for keeping smaller children from opening the back slider and for keeping intruders out. Stronger then I expected. I really enjoy the double slot which allows you to keep the sliding door slightly open to let fresh air in without compromising safety.

Lock failed after a few months of light use. Like others have said, the lock will start sticking and become more difficult to push into lock position over time until it fails completely. Amazon customer service cares less about members now and just says sorry you’re outside the 30 days. Do not purchase!

I like the looks and feel of this device. The screws included are cheap and I had three heads snap/twist off during installation, which increased my install time from 20 minutes to 1 hour. Had to remove the device and then extract 3 broken screws and then reinstall with better metal screws. I did not need to use the included base plate, I just drilled a hole in my Tile and concrete floor. Works great.

Very easy install. Held the two components in place, marked the screw locations. Drilled small pilot holes for the screws and installed. To be fair I had to redrill 2 of them as there was a steel plate behind the vinyl and the pilot holes were too small in steel.As other reviewers pointed out you need to be aware of the glass inside the frame. I did not use one of the holes as I am sure I would have hit glass. Feels pretty secure. I'm sure that is someone took a prybar to the door they could pull the mounting screws (they are not overly large - see pic) but at that point they could just break the glass.I am satisfied that I have increased security on this door. Would recommend the product, in fact I am getting them for the other sliding door.

Brilliant! Works so well. No more sticks in the door. Neat and tidy and strong. Simple install. Only complaint no instructions for installation or use. That's the reason 5 stars weren't given.
