About this item

  • SBR provides good abrasion resistance
  • 70 Shore A means the material is hard for good resistance to surface penetration and wear
  • Color is black
  • Smooth finish

The black SBR rubber sheet is 70 Shore A and has a smooth finish. SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) is a synthetic rubber that provides good abrasion resistance. A hardness measurement of 70 Shore A means the material has a hard surface for good penetration and wear resistance.

Rubber is a strong, flexible material that provides good insulation and shock absorption. Some types of rubber may be weather or chemical resistant and withstand high temperatures. Wear resistance is the degree to which the rubber resists abrasion. Hardness is measured with scales Shore D, Shore OO, and Shore A, which is the most common scale. A higher number means the material is harder and more resistant to penetration. A lower number means the material is softer and more flexible. Tensile strength, used to indicate the material’s overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks.

This is exactly the material I needed for some flaps for rock protection. Great material and very durable. Need to find some bigger pieces in the same good quality materail.

It’s just a hard rubber mat. There are multiple uses for this, like using it as a buffer when installing a roof rack on a car. The smell is terrible at first, but it dissipates.

I've come across a few YouTube videos where owners have inproved the snow blowing performance of their blowers by attaching a peice of rubber to the secondary auger blade which helps prevent snow/slush from building up in the chute and preventing the blower from shooting it out. I had been searching around for a piece of rubber that would fit this bill when I happened to stumble onto this product and was fortunate enough that a few reviewers had also purchased this for the exact same application and noted that it was perfect. I just got the rubber today and installed it as recommended and it is perfect as was noted. If you are looking to improve the performance of your snow blower then this is exactly the product you want to use to do so. Highly recommended.

My newer chevy truck has the dreaded issue we all hear about... clunking from the rear leafs. I looked into solutions and came across spring things. Spring things cost 50 bucks! This rubber sheet was ten bucks! I cut it down to the diminsions I needed for my 2500hd leafs and inserted them, zip tied them and walah! No more leaf spring noise and at a fraction of the cost of the spring thing.

LOL, seriously a nice thick mat. I'm going to use it to insulate between my kicker outboard marine motor and the boat to help quiet it down and reduce vibration coming into the boat. It does smell like new tires. I like the smell, but ended up having to move it to the garage because it made the entire house smell.

I used it to make a one way check valve rubber seal for a septic tank. It works great. The material is quite easy to work with and it is very resistant. The only thing I wish it had was a mesh or nylon interior. I will see how long it lasts.

Seems like good material. One was slightly thicker than the other. Only being used as mud flaps so no big deal.

I bought four of these to make myself custom mudflaps for my car. To my surprise, these are easy to drill and cut with a utility knife. Making the four mudflaps only took me about an hour and a half, while most was spent measuring.

it was a little thicker than 1/4 inch and wasn't compressing so i had to change how i was going to use it but I was able to get it working.super high quality. now to find uses for what I have left over after using it for the project i bought it for.
