Whether you have the Brandon Li package or the standalone package for your phone cage, this just solves the missing part, getting it on a tripod… fast!While you could still do it with the cages, you would need to screw the tripod base or the "quick release", however, you won't get quicker than thisAs long as you know how to properly attach it, it will be sturdy and safe to hold your phone, at the same time, fast to take off and to be on the go.

I bought a full SmallRig lol and this just add icing on the cake for me. This allows me to mobilize my rig within seconds vs undoing the hot/cold shoe mounts both need two hands to remove vs the simple pinch of this. I heavily recommend!

Finally.Until now, I’ve been using a spare adapter bolted to an arca plate to accomplish the same job, so why did I spend on this?It’s much shorter. It’s about as short as you can get while maintaining all of the functionality. It’s over a full centimeter shorter than my solution, lowering my iPhone 15 Pro Max’s CG and increasing vertical clearance while mounted to my RSC2 gimbal. That helps significantly with balance, performance and battery life.It’s too bad SmallRig still doesn’t make revised cages and cases for older iPhones to accommodate the new, quick release design. For now, the latest universal cage works with my iPhone 12 Pro, when I need to swap cameras.

I’m a huge fan of SmallRig’s products. They really make high quality and extremely function tools that help me so much with my mobile photography hobby.Their phone cages are some of my favorites. This little adapter is such a perfect companion. I love being able to keep my phone in the phone cage and quickly connect or disconnect to a tripod or other accessory. If there is a 1/4†threaded adapter, this can be connected to it.The quick release clamp is strong. I have had zero issues with this coming off when I didn’t want it to.This is a well thought out and well designed adapter and I have gotten so much use out of it.
