I also had problems getting them to hold the line until I borrowed a different pliers to crimp them. A wider, or duck-billed pliers does the trick. They would not work with standard slim needle nose pliers. After learning the trick, they worked great. Getting ready for ice season this year and I removed 3 old ones at different depths off 1 rod.

Perfect design for what I was looking for. Stays tight on the fishing line and goes through the eyelets with ease.

These seemed like a good idea but very difficult to deploy. Mine seemed like they were too old to be crimped and none of them worked. I just trashed the last couple as they were very fragile and not worth effort.

Using these on ice fishing rod (4 lb test) for crappie fishing. They aren’t the easiest to put on but I did find that they held their position fairly well and I was able to adjust them. My main complaint is the bobber stops would often catch my line on the reel spool as I was letting line out, which was fairly annoying. This might only be a problem on small reel spools like those I use for ice fishing.

No photo but on my review of the bobber I talked about how the stop ran up the line I had to replace it and it worked fine after that easy install and works great
