simple set up, simple to use and gave me immediate results. A must have for DIY mechanics. Vehicle was showing OBD2 code (P-1000), the smoke machine found the Evap leak within minutes, something I would’ve never caught with my naked eye. This specific smoke machine also comes with the ability to adjust the amount of smoke, which I found very useful.

I ordered this smoke machine to find an exhaust leak on my pickup. So far it's working very well and I'm not had any issues with it. It also came with a nice variety of accessories, some of which I will use and some of which I may not, but they'll be nice to have in case I ever need them. I didn't really like the fact that I was going to have to hook it up to the battery and then connect the smoke generator to the tailpipe because the lines weren't long enough. They say you have to run this off of a 12 Volt car battery. However, I have a portal battery pack I put together using a 12v 12ah seals lead acid battery. This has worked well for me and I have not had any issues. Another thing that I like about it is the smoke generator and all this accessories fit very neatly into a 5 gallon bucket. This way I can put a lid on the bucket and keep it protected until my next use.

Easy to use and makes lots of smoke. Will work from a 12vdc power supply that has at least 5 Amp output.

Thing is awesome, works as it should, only complaint is that it comes with a set of rubber plugs, to plug various orifices on parts you want to test, the plugs are tapered and if you stack them on top of each other they form a cone, but I’m missing one pieces of the cone in the middle. Not sure if that is just me or all of theses are missing that one plug. Only mention because I needed that particular plug on what I was testing. Otherwise this is an amazing set.

This allowed me to find a vacuum leak on my daughters VW New Beetle very quickly. We had it unboxed, filled with baby oil, and working in 10 minutes.

You just follow the smoke to see where it is pulled. You can create a sealed system, using the provided plugs and caps and attachments, to see where the smoke escapes from your vehicle's system.As my spouse says, you don't use this a lot, but it is super handy to have when you really need it.The one downside is the outlet on the back. It is just snapped in, and it can pull out easily. Do yourself a favor and leave the power cord attached all the time.
