The light will turn on without the fan, but the fan will only turn on when the light is on, the instructions are incomplete, and you have to play the remote to control.the fan, the size of the blades are small so not a lot of wind is produced, I bought two packages, each contained two fans, and all preform the same, so it's not one defective fan, I do not recommend this product

Bright light with decent fan for the price. But does not save last settings when switch is turned off. Using it for closet light and fan.

I have the two pack of these, one of them has a better fan than the other. One of the fans is much weaker and only seems to work on the low setting. The lights are very nice and bright but you can dim them. They have a range of colors from amber to bright white. You get two remotes, each remote needs 2 AAA batteries which do not come with. Back to the fans, they need to be pointed right at you to feel them and you can set them to different angles as needed. They just screw into any standard light socket.
