Wanted to use on my GoPro 8 to allow battery power from a Mophi rather than the cam's battery.Works perfectly with a 90* usb charge cord.Nice product and a great price.Richard

fit my gopro 8, but tricky to get on. I still have not got it on correctly. it stays in place as long as the door is close. falls off when opened.

Excellent cover. Strong materials, worked great fro my Hero 8. Love that it also lets the USB-C to be exposed. If you are running in wet environment this might not be for you. I use this on my drones so I can power with the USB and leave the battery weight behind.

I have several Soonsun accessories for my GoPro and they are all good quality with no issues. This allowed me to film for hours straight off an external battery while I ride. Would recommend this to others.

Vital if you want to add the microphone adaptor or even the charging / power lead to the Hero 8 Black whilst in use - unlike the foregoing Hero 7, keeping the standard door open in order to be able to have a lead plugged in, is not an option on the 8, as it needs to remain closed to hold the battery in! I never liked how the sockets were exposed on the 7 anyway, where the door had to be left open (and flap about in the wind) or removed, if an external lead was required, but this does seem a much better arrangement. It works the same as the original door but with just a small aperture to plug in an external lead. Not waterproof in the context of being submerged, but should be shower proof and keep out most dust and dirt - or at least more so than the Hero 7's arrangement. Material is aluminium or alloy (as per the original), and appears to be well made.

So, obviously if you are buying a battery door with a large hole in it, you are compromising the waterproofing of your GoPro. I have supplied comparison pictures to show the original and replacement side by side. Note there is no attempt to seal the door at all, but it does fit well. I will use this in dry weather only, BUT I live in England and unexpected showers will happen. So, I have shown my USB C lead fitted through this door, with an ADDITIONAL Nitrile Rubber O Ring that I purchased separately (10*1.9 size). It will not be waterproof, but I would hope that it stops a small rain shower from quickly invading the battery compartment. My plan is to stop riding and put the GoPro away if there is persistent rainfall. Anyway, I used the GoPro for 2 hours from a power pack yesterday with this set up, and came home with 100% battery, so I am happy.
