About this item

  • Power - 500 Max x 2 @ 2 Ohms, 250 Max x 2 @ 4 Ohms, 1000 Max Bridged x 1 @ 4 Ohms
  • Bridgeable - Dramatically increase the power output to you speakers and subwoofers by connecting two amplifier channels
  • Variable Low Pass Crossover - Subwoofers reproduce sound based on a number of different low-range frequencies. You can set exact sound specifications for the bass frequency reproduction
  • Variable High Pass Crossover - Speakers reproduce sound based on high, low or mid-range frequencies. A variable high pass crossover gears specifically towards “highs” such as all size speakers including mid ranges and tweeters
  • Variable Bass Boost - With Variable Bass Boost you have the control of exactly how much BASS you want to pump out to your subwoofer(s)
  • Variable Input Gain Control - The gain control is not for adjusting volume. It simply adjusts the amount of signal that is coming from your receiver and going to your amplifier
  • Variable Input Sensitivity – This is not a volume control. A low level signal will require decreased sensitivity for full power. A high level signal will require a decreased sensitivity
  • Specs - Dimensions: 9.50” x 10” x 2.25”, Weight: 6.20 lbs., Speaker Impedance: 2 to 8 Ohm, THD @ RMS Output: 0.01%, S/N Ratio: 103 dB, Frequency Response: 9 Hz to 50 kHz, Fuse Quantity: 1 30 Amp ATO Blade

Installed this in my 2006 Nissan Frontier 4x4. Added an under the rear seat Audio Enhancer 10" sub box with a Rockford Fosgate R2 shallow mount sub. The sub is a DVC 2 ohm, so ran it in series for a 4 ohm load and then wired the amp bridged mono. I really like the sub volume knob, ran that up front under the dash. This is more than enough for this little truck and I'm not joining any sound comps or SPL comps either. Sounds great with my ATOTO A6PF headunit, Pioneer TS-692C 2-way components upfront and TS-A1680 in the rear with 85Hz and 200Hz blockers on the fronts/rears. This my 2nd SSL amp, I have an EVO1500.1 running a Rockford Fosgate P2D4 12" in my car and it is more than enough for that sub. Great value, great features, zero issues.

Great amp for the price. After my Pioneer sh*t out on me, I shopped around the internet for amplifiers that would rattle my windows but not break the bank. This one fit the bill perfectly. Tons of adjustment options, clear and precise bass, simple setup (took me about 10 minutes, with my wiring kit already installed) and it looks beautiful. The power LED indicator is really bright, but I guess that can be a good thing. It doesn't draw heavily on your electrical system, either. My old amp used to make my lights dim and RPMs fluctuate and that kind of thing, but this one is a higher wattage and draws almost nothing out of my electrical system. Highly recommend, it's worth it. My bass control knob works with my amp, but I already had one installed so I'm leaving the SSL one off for now. THIS AMP STAYS COOL. I've had it pounding non-stop for a three hour road trip on several occasions, and it never once heated up on me. Just make sure it can breathe, it is vented on the bottom so I would recommend mounting it to something to allow airflow underneath it. I used just a small piece of wood to prop one end up about an inch, and that's plenty.

It works as advertised. The power is good, not incredible. I bought it because I had to hold the cost down, and this unit has high level inputs, which are great for upgrading basic car radios. It powers a small passive subwoofer, that was repurposed from an old home audio system.

I have been shopping around for a new amp, after my old one die on me. I am extremely picky about my sound and was a little skeptical about buying this amp. You get what you paid for. I am using it with one 15" Kicker sub woofer, the amp is bridged to maximize the power output. Needless to say it hit hard. It sound better then my old MTX amp. It provide a deeper base and also a more lucid voice output if set to low pass filter. My only problem was the remote wire was not working at first, but that was my fault. I contact Sound Storm customer support and got a respond the same day. In order for the remote button to work. The amp have to be set to low pass filter. not high pass, nor full range.**Update February 12 2013***Just upgraded from one 15" Kicker to now two twelves's inch Kickers. it sound absolutely amazing at one 1000 watts. My freind have 2000 watts amp and honestly can sat my baby 1000 watts outshine his system.IT IS WORTH THE MONEY, I RECOMMEND IT.

This amplifier is complete garbage. Maybe it's because you get what you pay for, or maybe because it's actually a bad product. Either way, it only lasted 6 months, and during those six months, it was a huge pain. Upon installing it, it became immediately necessary to buy a ground loop noise isolator because it would make intolerable static with the engine on. Occasionally, it would make static without any inputs plugged in, despite being very well grounded. All the time, there would be a quiet static when any input cable was plugged in, and this occasionally got louder and more annoying. It was practically impossible to set the gain to where it should be because the static would become unbearable. Sometimes it would make loud static only after all audio has stopped. Sometimes, it would stay on with the ignition off, making a VERY loud, short noise after killing the engine. This was absolutely terrifying the first time it happened. Then I would have to pull apart the dash, wherever I'm parked, and keep a screwdriver in my car to disconnect the amp. I suppose it was shorting out internally somewhere between the power and the remote wires. It blew a fuse in my car twice. While I know that an amp should be wired right to the battery, it seemed unnecessary for this one considering that it is essentially the same power as an aftermarket stereo. So it was an unpleasant surprise when I found that my power locks weren't working so I had to change a fuse under the hood while parked in a bad neighborhood at night. My recommendation:Save your money for a real amplifier (maybe even a Class D one), this bottom shelf piece of junk is not worth it when you'll have to replace it within half a year anyway, especially with all the hassle it came with. Not to mention, you would have to pay $20 for a warranty replacement. I certainly wish I could have my $25 back to put towards something that will at least work semi-reliably.

I bought this to put in my truck. It was the perfect amp for my door component set of speaker's. works great an never goes out like some sound system amps will do after being used for a while. Buy it an you will love it. I promise you that.

I bought two of these "1200W" amps. They look outstanding, have a lot of very nice features, and push a decent amount of power...especially when you consider the LOW price. But, and it's a fairly BIG BUT, do not buy this expecting to get ANYWHERE NEAR 1200W out of it!! First, they advertise as "2 ohm stereo stable", & yeah it is (doesn't go into protected mode & shut off when you run it at 2 ohm STEREO, but don't even think of 2 ohm bridged), but it puts out I would say MORE clean power into 4 ohms than 2!!! And it does not have a "soft turn on/off" so you can expect that wonderful POP when you power it on/off. Decent overall for the price...just don't expect too much!!!

Excellent amp. Clear sounds, no distortion. I'm using it for a subwoofer, but it has the ability to be used for full range speakers as well, which I'm tempted to try.I'm using this to power a previously-passive home theater 110 Watt subwoofer, and it works great. It could definitely push more than that if need be, as on the 100mV- 2V setting and maximum source volume, it only needs a quarter turn on the gain to operate. I'm using it paired with a 200 Watt DC power supply that I also bought on here.Only downside, and not worth even losing a star over, is the fact that even with the HPF on, you can still hear some high level noises slightly. Only reason I notice is that I have the ability to turn off all other speakers. Normally, it wouldn't matter. If I ever have the need for a subwoofer or 2 channel amp, this is my new go-to. You can easily use it in a home-theater setup as well, with the addition of a 12Vdc power supply for around CAD$20.

I was attracted to this unit because it did not have ridiculous amounts of power and the manufacturer actually publishes the specs. Being an old school hi-fi guy, being able to read the specifications is very important to me. Found that wiring it was a bit tricky as some of the instructions are vague and or non existent, probably aimed at the professional installer they would prefer you to use. Out side of that it is a marvellous amp, gives me the sound I was looking for and doesn't look like they spent big bucks trying to make it look like something out of a movie set !
