Needed a long bit for Soss hinge mortises. No one locally had one, so I ordered this from Amazon. It was inexpensive for a 1/2†spiral router bit, but it cuts like a dream. It is super sharp and leaves nice clean edges. One word of caution, make sure to wipe it down thoroughly and check that the collet is really tight.

Excellent bit. Worked better than expect with crisp clean cuts

The bit I received was not Sharp and made my SYP workbench smoke with light plunge cuts. I purchased this bit to complete cutting my dog holes in the workbench. These were all already 2" deep and I needed to go a little over an 1" to complete the hole in my 3" thick workbench. My workbench started smoking and I had to use water to prevent a fire. There was also a lot of chatter as I plunged the router.

Sharp, slightly under size. Doesn’t matter for cutting but I bought to do plunge cuts for dowels. Need to work in and out to gelt the hole large enough for a 1/2†dowel.

this bit cuts sooo well, on par with Amana bitsthere is no better way to get a clean cut on both sides than a compression spiral bit, which cuts down at the top, and up at the bottom see their ad for details...what you end up with, is super clean cuts on both sides...highly recommended....

I bought this bit specifically for use in a router table to do edge jointing. I compared this bit against two others (another from SpeTool, and one from Whiteside). This bit was by far the worst for my use. I really expected that it'd leave a nice finish, but that wasn't the case at all.It wasn't terrible. Just not anywhere near "finish grade". It left both tearout and a rough finish (compared to the other two bits). Even the standard straight cut bit from Whiteside was significantly better.I will say that the appearance of the actual bit was very nice. It looked well constructed. It just didn't compete with the other two bits I used for my edge joint testing.I've included some pics of the bits I tested, and the quality of cut each left. It might be a little hard to make out in the pic, but you can see that this spiral compression bit from SpeTool was the loser. Not only was it visually poorer than the other two. But what can't be "seen" in a picture is how much rougher the feel of the cut was.The "cutterhead" style bit I bought from SpeTool, on the other hand, was phenomenal. So they do make some quality bits. This particular spiral bit just doesn't seem to be one of them.

The coated bit cut very well through 3" thick materialextra long bit produced no burning or any other issues.only used 1 time but i am sure the sharpness will last

Using for deep profile cuts on hobby CNC and very impressed. 1.5kw spindle at 100 IPM 0.25 DOC full width passes leaves very clean cuts.

These are great as starter bits.

Each 1/2†pass left a thicker step on the tenons and in the mortise. Very frustrated. I had to change how I was making my mortise and tenons which set me back about 2 weeks in the build.
