The SPW-8 is a stereo (two channel), one input, eight output, broad frequency response, volume control distribution hub. It provides a simple solution in complex speaker installations providing an easy way to connect from two to eight volume controls and pairs of stereo speakers to a single stereo receiver/amplifier. All outputs are labeled easing both connection and troubleshooting of a system

Trust me, I looked far and wide for this exact solution and couldn't find anything better. Plenty of others are certainly more expensive. Used this on our housewide audio - the rooms have their own switch with volume control. Original installers just took all the cables and used ONE of those twist caps on them - long story short, SOMEWHERE in the mass of wiring we had a short and it would cause the receiver to shut down. We could get one song to play and then oddly enough during the quiet second or so between songs the system would shut down. Ended up having the receiver replaced and had the same problem. Used this to separate out all the wires, I actually needed two for the system and everything works great. This isn't very big, nor is it very heavy. It wasn't until after we were all done, that I realized we could have taken the individual wiring blocks out, connect the wires, and plug it back into the base - would have saved a little time, but it all comes together nicely.

very easy to install. i use them with SONOS AMPS which are too expensive. multiple rooms easily wire to one amp. Fto safeguard the equipment, use local volume controls in each room.

I was expecting something a little bigger, and was pleasantly surprised. I really like how the connectors are removable, making the installation much easier. Be careful with your wire size. The terminals worked great for 16ga, but I don't think I would want to use anything much thicker. I was going to just use a terminal strip at first, but for the money this is a no-brainer.

It arrived quickly and was pretty easy to replace our old one. It was a lot smaller than anticipated. About the size of your hand for the whole thing. Bit different from the old one which was the size of the whole arm for the same number of outputs. Works well enough.

This is a real nice item. You take this and combined it with impedance matching volume controls and you save a ton of cash. It is a real easy panel to hook up since the plugs disconnect. Good quality, the only downside is I wish the main power plug (the red one) could take larger gage wire. Since that is feeding everything else I would like to see that be able to take 10ga.

I bought it thinking it’d be great for me because I have 4 pairs of speakers and when I got it and hooked it up, it did not work properly, it cut in and out, was static, and even with one pair of speakers it wouldn’t let me turn it up very loud.

No need to speed a lot of money for something this simple. Connectors are great and make it much easier to mount wires in connectors and then attach to base. Great value for the money. Everything else I saw was about twice as expensive and would be harder to mount wires. Does not come with screws to mount to wall or shelf. Comes with push in quick connectors for some type of custom housing installation but you can easily mount with some pan head screws.

This a great little unit, very good value for the price. I am running two sets of outdoor speakers around my pool deck through it at the moment and will probably add more as this unit is proving to be more than capable. I would have no hesitation recommending this item.
