This automatic waterer works great for my automatic gravity water system for cats in my cattery. Could be better if it was coming with the hose included though. The regular garden hose won’t fit and water supply hoses doesn’t come with the right size female end neither. But not a big deal, I was able to find the way around :)On a side note, I’ve bought another more expensive same type waterer with a brass valve and a hose included, but that didn’t work for my specific protect due to valve is a pressure control type. Water from the bucket didn’t have enough pressure to pass through the valve.

Bought this for my chickens. It works wonderfully. I did have to buy a fitting for the water hose, use Teflon tape on the treads to prevent a leak, and adjust the float for the water lever. All were easy to handle and the final product is clean fresh water in 100+* heat. Well worth every penny.

We bought these with the intention of using them in my chicken coop as an automatic waterer. They have been a blessing and work perfectly.

P.S. I managed to use a 3/4 to 1/2 plastic threaded adapter for an electrical box to get the hose to connect. Given this isn’t a plumbing connection I had to use teflon tape to get it to seal. Also, I cannot run this at full street pressure, water blows right through the valve. So - Keep in mind, if you buy this bowl you will need the 3/4 to 1/2 hose adapter sold with other bowls like this one. You will also have to keep in mind to regulate the water pressure going to it because the cheap plastics won’t hold full pressure. Maybe they will, but for how long, I’m not willing to risk it blowing apart. I’d rather keep the water throttled.Install could be easy enough, but they make it a treasure hunt of MacGuyver parts.Bolts with locknuts that hold the cover on are little excessive, could’ve been two machine screws with nut-serts. Instead I need a 1/2” wrench and nut driver. That’s a lot for a dog bowl. The mounting holes are large considering you only need two deck screws or rawl plugs to hold it up. I needed small fender washers to stop the heads of the screws from passing through the holes. Obviously stainless hardware is recommended, I just happened to have on hand. The icing on the cake is that the water attachment is not hose ready. So now I’m off to the hardware store to try to figure out how I’m going to adapt the thread on the bowl to a hose.I don’t know what they were thinking, what other way would you connect water to this?I can’t give a complete review until I get the water on. I’ll be back to update.

After a year of ownership I write this. It is a good idea with cheap parts. The biggest problem it is a leaker. The drain plug is an unusual thread size not available at good hardware stores. bolts, Cooper, brass does not fit. The lug has 3 threads and leaks $10.00 a month of water. I used Teflon tape, not enough thread length, thru bolt with a rubber washer- sill leaks. I hate to silicone the hole but my last option. Only 20years experience as a plumber.I posted the question here and the manufacturer does not respond. No replacement parts available as stated in one question.Save your money or you will buy a grass waterer. The best product with no part support is a bad product.Another update, now that I welded the drain closed since parts and customer service does not exist the float Assy leaks. So far I have spent more money on wasted water than this costs. After 60 days I received replacement screw in plugs thanks

My puppy loves this, although I think it needs to be bigger for my full grown dog.
